'Psalm 121:2

My help comes from the Lord,

the Maker of heaven and earth.'

To whom do we usually ask for help, may it be in matters of life, finances, work, etc? We tend to ask from our family, our friends right? To people we can truly trust. Some people post in social media hoping that it somehow ease or lessen the burden especially when people interact with them by their comments or reactions.

But the Psalms 121:2 is telling us, go straight to the Lord. Ask for help to Him straight, we don't need to stare at the door and wait that the help we need to knock and says here I am! We just need to talk to Him, in whatever matters that is bothering us, making us weary, stressed and lost focus. A minute or two is more than enough but if we can do more than that then better. Sometimes all we need to do is close our eyes, pray and ask for wisdom and in no time the Lord will lead angels not just to help but give us comfort and love.

Let's take Rica as an example. When she was in highschool, she was assigned to handle their group's 'paluwagan'. She gained their trust. But because her friends loves to eat put after class and she was afraid that they might tell her that she's a kill joy. She would join them even if her allowance was not enough. She would borrow money from their 'paluwagan' and would just pay when her parents will give her allowance for a week. At first, she was able to hide this scheme but then it went overboard and her allowance was no longer to pay off what she borrowed. It was already time to distribute the money saved but she kept on delaying it by giving excuses. Until she was reported to their teacher and Rica was asked to call her parents to school.

Rica was so afraid that her parents might scold her, got disappointed, would no longer bring her to school or worst, they might hate her. She no longer know what to do, she felt lost because of what she did. Then she passed by at the church, she has hesitant to enter first because she thought she was not worthy. But she continue anyway.

She started praying and then suddenly tears began falling. She said, God I made mistakes, I failed you and my parents. I don't know what to do, I don't want to hurt my parents, please help me, please help me. She went home feeling light and comforted. She told her parents about what happened, of course, she was scolded but her father accompanied her to school and settle the matter. Her friends somehow tried to avoid her but after sometime, their friendship and love prevails and they forgive her.

When we let go and let God, everything seemed impossible will be possible. He will straighten the path for us and ease that hurdles on our way. Before we ask somebody else for help, seek to Him first, talk to Him and trust in Him.
