Today is an amazing day, though we woke up a little late. My little girl stayed up until 9o'clock last night, busy singing and dancing. Funny that we, adults, also had fun singing and dancing with them. Their laughter is so contagious! Aside from these two angels we have at home, we also have a niece, 3-years old, living just a few steps away from our house. She always asks her mom to come to our house and she instantly grabs my hand and wants me to carry her. But my little one is a jealous one and she do not want me to carry anyone else but her unless she is in the mood. They play chasing games, running from this house to that house, playing with the soil, with the chicken, rest at the hammock and watch the little dogs barking. Of course, we could not miss going to the beach, bring their own bubble toys, ask me to blow it for them and they would run, catch, or pop them.
This has been my daily routine since we got home last June of 2020. A routine that I could not trade for anything, a routine that is so overwhelming not of stress but of joy and contentment, of love and appreciating the simplicity of life. If only we can keep them this little, if only we can watch them like this forever. Soon they will have their own lives, chasing their own dreams but for now, let us allow them play and enjoy. No matter how stressful work is, how chaotic the world have been, a simple smile and gesture will turn everything well. They are the sunshine even in gloomy days, they are the everyday rainbow that gives color in not so good days. They put a genuine smile in our face, they are the cute angels that hold and have. With them misunderstanding is just temporary; they argue, they fight and suddenly, they are okay and playing again as if nothing happened; no grudges unlike adults who build bridges. They make life smooth and less complicated; they make life easy.
May we all have a wisdom of a child, kid at heart and erase that pride and ego that keeps us from fulfilling that.
