Change!

We can change our clothes according to trends, we can change the way we talk, we walk and the way we think, we can also change our future and so many more. The change we choose will surely make or break us. Let's see the story of Jerome.

Jerome came from a well-off family. His father was a retired seaman, his mom is a teacher and his siblings are doing great in their own chosen careers; nurse, police officer, seaman. Jerome on the other hand got married early and was not able to finish college. He has two sons and a struggling marriage. He has no stable job because as his mother would always say, he's lazy and irresponsible. He can cook, actually he was the best in the family. As a help, his siblings gave him capital to start a small food business. It was doing fine during the first three months, but then it suddenly went bankrupt because Jerome mismanaged it.

Jerome also can drive, one time a distant relative from abroad asked him to be their driver for a whole month. He immediately and excitedly agreed. Everyday, they will go to Jerome's house so they could play cards with some relatives there. It's their way of unwinding and that's how their vacation would be like. One day, the husband and wife were too excited to play cards that they forgot to bring their bag with them, it was left inside the van. The wife has been asking their maid to get it from them when she realized that they forgot it but the van was not there. They though maybe Jerome just went somewhere, but as soon as he arrived, the maid obtained the bag.

In a different scenario again, they asked Jerome to have the van washed. Again their bag,where they put their necessary belongings; passports, jewelries, money were there. They again forgot to bring it with them. Upon checking, the wife was puzzled, there's something missing so she asked Jerome if he left the van unattended during the whole process of car washing but he said no. Without telling a word, the wife was bothered who could be the culprit. Some or huge amount of money have been missing, like $1700!

She had been praying that God may lead her to the culprit. She does not want to point fingers and she does not want to accept the idea that Jerome might be the one because he had been showing no signs. He was industrious, polite and respectful. Until their last day of vacation came, mother of Jerome was so bothered and told them that Jerome could no longer drive for them. The two asked why, it's their last and who would then be their driver but she assured to them that she'll find one and it's for their safety. The mother could not help but burst into cry because she was too ashamed to admit what she just found out. But these two curious guests needed to know why, so they asked her what's happening and where is Jerome!

Jerome was in jail, he was caught taking drugs with the huge amount of money in his bag; some where still in dollars.

Our life and future depends on what path we choose. There are so many opportunities out there and God equipped us with talent, skills and mind so we could use them for our own good. But some rather chose to abuse and misuse them.

Change is good, actually it's important. We change our habits, our goals, our lifestyle not to impress others but to help ourselves, to improve our lives.
