We Call Them The Deadly Sins

2 28

Once upon an age, existed peace in waves

Except for all those fancy blokes who hid upon the stage

Roving round the world they uncovered the secret to their cage

A blissful nook of undoings as seven carved its name

These people odd as they might seem were blinded not with Rage

Greed and Gluttony crafted a lens of beauty in selfish aims

Sloth paved way for Envy's colours

Not for green what other did she gain?

Pride made one not sad not undone

But rather quite unremorseful of his immorality yet to come

Sensuality brought home a page from Lust's playbook

And led the lamb to slaughter because of lack of restraint like cuffs or maybe a hook

Riddling the world with animal's instinct

Plebeians flocked to them in awe of their vainglory and handed over fealty

And that is how my story ends, on psychopathic whims

They screwed the world over and called themselves the deadly sins

This is one creative way to write poetry. Did you draw all the pictures?

No, I didn't. A mutual acquaintance did a few.
