"We got another! You need to push harder! HARDER!" One of the doctors shouted, moving the first baby out of the way onto the hands of one of the nurses. But it was just the start, there was another one on the way. The mother hadn't known it was twins she was carrying nor the doctors. They were all dumbfounded. It wasn't shown in the ultrasounds causing things to get out of hand. If only they had known they could have been more prepared.

"PUSH! Harder! Love, you can do it! Just one more...one more dear." The voice of the pleading husband echoed through the white-washed delivery room. The mother focused her eyes only on him, holding him for dear life. It was as if he was the only person there, he wanted him to be the only person there. With a deep exhilarating breath, she pushed one more time.

"Ah!" She felt the rush and the pain, of the blood flowing out from her. She passed out thinking, why I hadn't heard my baby's cry. What is wrong?

That night she bore a set of beautiful twin girls, and one wasn't lucky to survive. Life is taken away in such a tragic way; not even able to see the beauty of the world.

That night too, the husband buried the body of their daughter on the damp cold soil of the cemetery, alone. He could still remember those eyes of his daughter, open and piercing, despite not surviving he felt life out of her. She died choking on her own cord.

Rising on his feet, a single tear dropped on the coffin. Soil after soil was thrown until there was no more of the pink box.

He moved walking away in the chilling night, cold air hit his face. Though it was nearing the solstice, he was in a place where frigid comes on the first week of January. He held both of his arms to his body in a hugging manner. A soft crying could be heard between the swaying of the leaves and the cooing of the owls. He turned, looking back at the ground where his daughter lied then shook his head for thinking crazy ideas.

Though he couldn't take off the feeling of someone looking at him. He swore he could feel eyes boring at his back but he was not one to be superstitious. He started walking away but without his knowledge, a small shadow of a newborn followed him.
