Today, man is touching the top of the world from sociology to science and technology, but even today, millions of people around the world are slaves of humans. Slaves, suffering worse than animals, are being sold from hand to hand and from region to region. August 23 is International Day for the Abolition of the Slave Trade Enslaving human beings, buying and selling them as slaves and trafficking are such bitter facts that sooner or later humanity will wake up to it. All religions and scholars agree that nature created man free. Powerful individuals and societies put nature behind them to protect their interests and slap humanity in the face by trading human beings. Some enlightened minds rose up to eradicate this scourge and due to their courage and courage, tomorrow, August 23, is being celebrated as the International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and the End of the Cruel Tradition. According to the United Nations, a person who is forced to work against his will, who is under the 100% control of his employer, who cannot move freely or who is treated inhumanely is classified as a slave. be held and treated as a commodity or bought and sold like property. Compiled by the United Nations
History proves that in 1791, between the night of August 22nd and 23rd, the abolition of the slave trade began in Santo Domingo, which is now known as the Dominion Republic and Haiti. The International Day for the Abolition of the Slave Trade was first observed in 1998 and every year since on 23 August to commemorate this courageous act. In this regard, the active classes are very serious and agree that the purpose of celebrating this day is awareness of the slave trade, the method of enslaving people, and the consequences of this painful process. Along with this, awareness is to be raised regarding its effects on other regions including Africa, Europe and America.

The United Nations has set a goal of ending slavery and the slave trade by 2030. Before mentioning the history of slavery and the slave trade and its situation and statistics in modern times, it will not be out of place to believe that every philosopher in the world has condemned slavery. Rousseau, the preacher of human equality, said that man is born free but is chained on all sides. The poet of the East Allama Muhammad Iqbal finds the greatness of man as Ashraf al-Makhluqat in that he should not bow his head to anyone except God and should not suffer from any mental or practical slavery.
Describing slavery as worse, they say that it is worse than slavery, that I do not see myself bowing before it.
With the development of human civilization, the slave trade should have decreased, but the opposite is the case and it is disappointing, and this global slave trade is constantly increasing. Sociologists believe that in many regions of the world, poverty, armed conflicts and various crises are fueling the environment of modern slavery.

Modern slavery takes many forms, including factory workers, agricultural labour, fishermen, domestic workers, forced recruitment into armed groups, prostitution, professional prostitution, organ trafficking, contract marriages and labor in the construction sector. Slave traders and smugglers make over 150 billion dollars a year. According to available reports, North Korea and the African countries of Eritrea and Burundi have the highest rate of people being forced into a life of modern slavery. On the other hand, the largest countries in terms of population, China and India and Pakistan also have a large number of people affected by modern slavery. Currently, the number of people suffering from modern slavery worldwide is fifty million. Of these, 25 million or two and a half crores are subjected to forced labor, while 15 million or one and a half crores, including adult and minor women and children, are employed.
The country in which the largest number of people are living in modern slavery is India, where the number of enslaved people is eight million or eight million. A large number of slaves were smuggled from Africa to America two or three centuries ago. Slaves from the Nubani Agugo in Africa were sold through the port of Calabar and Bonny in what we know today as Nigeria. The ethnic tribes living along the coast were agents and got commission in buying and selling slaves. During the 15th and 19th centuries, about 15 million Igbo slaves were shipped from Bonny and Kalabar ports to what was then called the New World, the Americas.

Slaves used to do household chores or labor. They were also sacrificed on certain religious festivals or buried alive with their dead masters so that they could serve them in the next world. Sending slaves across the Atlantic Ocean to America was the oldest and most expensive business. By 1690, the number was 30,000 per year, which tripled by the next century. Slaves were loaded onto ships like animals. Men, women and children were tied with ropes. 12 to 15 percent of the slaves lost their lives due to suffering and were thrown into the sea to become fish food.
