There are a few ways in which someone can earn crypto from blogging. I used to be a content writer working for a few clients about 4 years back. I have been a content writer for over 10 years now. I used to get clients through Upwork and Freelancer. In 2017, when one of my project contracts ended, I was looking for an opportunity to earn some money through blogging.
I did try to get some new client contacts via Upwork and Freelancer sites but it was not working out well. That is when the crypto craze started. People around me and some of my friends were talking about crypto a lot. I was also curious to explore this Blockchain technology as well. As a coincidence, I wanted to look for opportunities to earn cryptocurrencies from blogging.
That is when I was fortunate to find out Steem. Since then I have been blogging for over 3 years now. I initially thought I should have my own website and start writing. I did give it a try but it did not work out very well. Then I became a regular author on Steem. I also started becoming very consistent about writing at least one article per day after my Hive journey started.
I consider the below environments are the ways to earn crypto from blogging.
Steem
I personally would not recommend this because of the events that happened last year. Especially the hostile takeover and also for stealing funds from the user accounts. Even though my journey started on Steem, I slowly evolved to Hive and I don't even care about Steem anymore. There are criticism that people using both Steem as well as Hive are mostly like double agents but I personally don't prefer steem and have no idea about getting back to steem anymore. So, I don't even want to talk about Steem. People who are using Steem as their blogging platform, be careful with your funds. The blockchain is so centralized and your funds might disappear someday.
Hive
Hive is a platform that was forked from Steem last year. It was started as a community initiative. This is a very good blogging platform. People can earn rewards for blogging as well as investing. By writing content or blogs, people will be able to receive author rewards. Apart from that, anyone who is staking Hive will also be able to earn rewards for curating content on Hive. These rewards are called curation rewards.
There are also Tribes on Hive where you can select your niche and write articles on specific topics and earn extra token rewards. Leofinance is a tribe where we can contribute content related to finance and get Leo token for the same.
Publish0x
It is less than a year since I started contributing to the Publish0x platform. I mostly cross-post all my posts from Hive to Publish0x and I have to admit that the rewards are a bit slow here. This platform is a centralized platform for sharing your contents and the data itself is not decentralized or on a blockchain. The website is using a few cryptocurrencies to reward its users. I like the way the users are rewarded.
Unlike Hive, this platform doesn't have stake-based voting instead a different way to reward the users from a common reward pool. In order to earn more from this platform, the contents should be good and we have to be very popular with many followers following our posts. Sticking to finance-related or crypto-related topics helps in getting high rewards. If you would like to join, you can take my referral link from the footer section of this article.
Read.Cash
This is yet another blogging platform that rewards the users in BCH. This has been there for a very long time. I got a chance to sign up to this site only recently. Right now I'm in the mode of experimentation. I'm not even sure how much could be the earning potential from this platform. Already I'm not very impressed with the earnings from Publish0x. But I'm sure the earnings from Read.Cash and Publish0x will improve gradually. If you would like to join, you can take my referral link.
