Now the border is closed, unable to travel overseas. So the only weekend shopping for grocery also limited to within Singapore only.
So to have something uncommon to do compared to boring working days, so today decided to go nearby Ang Mo Kio town center for a stroll/shopping/kill time.
Ang Mo Kio is an mid-age township, already built for more than 40years ago, considered one of the mature estates in Singapore.
So the Ang Mo Kio town council recent year in attempt to bring liveliness to this mature town, they decided to have wall paintings onto many walls, like those we always see in Malaysia small town- decorate the idling wall while attracting tourists to pay a visit
I find this wall painting very meaningful and significant way to remember Year 2020- pandemic year, where everyone on the street is wearing mask.
Even the hawkers not spared though sweat heavily during bargain.
The wall paintings also resembled the olden days where house builders in those days were consist of a group of women wearing red head scarf. They are recognised as one of the most hardworking workers during last time.
Durian falls from tree. There's a Malay proverb which literally means "Durian Fall" , which means get rewarded without any effort. Haha and the other painting which showcasing locals like durians very much. $1 for durian were dirt cheap..
Smile a little bit, don't work too stress, Singaporeans ! Monalisa loves durian too, come and have a rest and a sip of durian ! Appreciate the humour in this painting .
The art works are not limited to wall paintings, but also on the floors, and lantern deco hanging.
