How many Satoshi Nakamoto Bitcoins (BTC) are there?
Satoshi Nakamoto invented Bitcoin, therefore, not surprising that the mysterious figure has the largest number of BTC in the world: presumably from 600,000 to 700,000 Bitcoins in Satoshi Nakamoto's wallet, according to a study conducted cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX.
How do we know this? So, BitMEX analyzed the blockchain from the time when Bitcoin was first introduced in 2009. It was discovered that one unknown user mined about 700,000 Bitcoins.
Unfortunately, BitMEX cannot with absolute certainty say that this figure is correct, stating that "the evidence is much less reliable than many would assume." There is also a probability that the unknown miner might not even be Satoshi...
The community suggested that BitMEX discovered the trail actually belongs to a random person who decided to run Bitcoin mining for the sake of experiment, to accumulate coins. Perhaps after disabling hashing the user has simply lost the private key from your wallet.
This explains why the balance has remained unchanged since 2009: there is a possibility that the key to the wallet has since been lost, sending the state into an irretrievable abyss.
Or maybe these coins belong to Satoshi, who "got" BTC for a rainy day.
All that has ever been confirmed is that Satoshi has 50 BTC , which were purchased to mine the world's first Bitcoin block to launch cryptocurrency
Why did he do this? Without starting the mining of the first, initial block, or the so-called block genesis. And if you take into account the fact that he owns only 50 BTC, it is possible to believe that they never make it to market, as the Creator of BTC got them to start their project.
BitMEX should go deeper to know the actual owner of the wallet. Though, a bit difficult task due to decentralization of Bitcoin.
