It was January 2020, and I was doing my internet routine, looking for cryptocurrencies to buy at a time when fees were low and nobody was interested. All we had was the Bitcoin halving and we were buying at what was low prices. It was not looking good for Crypto, but there was still hope.
I bought some coins and decided to spend a couple of hours watching YouTube. I don't remember what day it was, I stumbled upon a news broadcaster on Youtube live streaming some kind of news about a Chinese virus that was killing people.
I don't remember the day or time. I remember the events that started unfolding. China shutting down cities to contain the spread of the virus.
The media were already on this, it could be the huge news they needed. And as expected, from that day there wasn't a single one passed without the spread of fear and misinformation.
Incorrect data and inconclusive results came from the WHO that visited China and first of all explained there was no reason to panic. Reports were coming all based on spread fear to the audience.
All major networks were in this game. Except China nobody else was affected, then news came that Iran was having 700 deaths each day, and some video clips of dubious origin appeared on the internet.
The virus turned viral and affected our screens and our lives. "Expert" epidemiologists supported the claim that lockdowns and shutdowns of our economies were inevitable.
While the virus was going to affect only a very small part of the population, probably 0.01% as statistics prove today, still it was ordered for the rest 99.9% to enter a lockdown. For the first time in history all governments decide to just halt 90% of economic activity for a reason that would affect just 0.01% of the population.
I am amazed at our governments inability to govern. The results of these lockdowns will be a burden to every economy for at least 25 years and will have terrible consequences for everyone of us.
The results are obvious already. Many western economies are already above 200% debt to GDP and almost every country in the world will be above 100% by the end of the year.
A country having a debt that reached 100% of its GDP was traditionally considered bankrupt. Money supply in terms of M1 and M2 has quadruppled in just one year. Not just in the USA, but almost everywhere. Inflation levels are rising and are expected to reach 10-15% in the following two or three years in the developed world. Money won't be the same as we know it.
But this is not the worst. Governments have suddenly turned authoritarian and taken control of everything. Our lives, our freedom, the freedom to travel and to open your business. Nothing is allowed, we are just stuck behind a keyboard and waiting like sheep to get vaccinated.
They give us now this vaccine passport hope and tell us that we will be able to travel again but we will require to carry a proof of vaccination! I'm not saying not to do a vaccine, but this is the first time in human history we will not be allowed to get out of our homes without having done the flue shot first.
Isn't everything so ridiculous and set up to increase control of governments? I'm not sure if there was an AI taken over our governance and decided the best course of action is to turn every democracy in a North Korean style regime.
Maybe we will vaccinate, maybe not. The choice is ours and nobody can force anyone. It is not about the public health, all these ridiculous restrictions that take place are about creating new order and new dynamics that will forever change power divisions.
Every government was happy to take control and enforce their decisions. Every human right is violated by these actions and every constitution we have was ripped to pieces.
The latest ridiculous event our governments are not forcing is which vacccine to select. Guys, I'm not selecting any vaccine, why are you making such a buzz about these silly names like Moderna and AstraZeneca or Pfizer. I selected already that I won't vaccinate and maybe I will some time later, but this is another reason I don't want to.
Everything is becoming a Doge nowadays. A ridiculous moment of hype on someting that will have no affect in the lives of 99.9% of the population. A huge bubble that was created to boost the pharmaceutics and give them the all power they ever wanted.
One of the lowest moments for humankind that will have an effect for decades. We lost 20 years of progress and how did it help? People are now more aggressive and have more concerns than ever. Uncertainty about our finances, uncertainty about economies that are in recession and doubts about everything.
How was a global lockdown better? Recessions kill more than any disease. It just doesn't happen in a few days but in the whole recession cycle.
It is a desperate move that I would only agree if the fatality rate was 5% which was what they told us initially. And then it got lower and lower. Like statistics are hard to master and you can't possibly make a correct assumption of the fatality rate of a virus.
Meanwhile there are reports that fully vaccinated individuals have still contracted covid19. A vaccine doesn't prevent you from catching covid. It seems that it is only lowering the risk of repercussions and reducing the chances of contracting the virus. Not that it matters to the economy. The damage is already irreplaceable.
Sadly, I am expecting more years of instability. This governmental stupidity is out of order and I can't say I disaprove those that disobey the authoritarian restrictions. What governments did was to destroy the economies and this is us that will be paying everything back.
Taxation is coming. For the next twenty years we will be working overtime to clean this mess.
I don't want be the black sheep here but i've actually had a fight with a friend of mine about this whole vaccine situation. She was really dissapointed in me that I refuse to vaccinate myself and that it's because of people like me that she might get the virus and I was like.. First of all, if you don't know how to accept that somebody might have a different opinion than yours, that's a huge imaturity problem. Second of all, it's my body and I decide what I want to do to it or not. Third.. let's say I'm not getting a vaccine but you do. Why are you worried that I might get you infected, since the vaccine is supposed to help you not get infected? Do you even know what they put into those vaccines? Or you just do them because "everybody else is doing it" or because "you have to". Please. That's a stupid reason. Come with some facts and then I will admit you have a point.
