Here is a great idea I picked up from Sue Petterson: A time capsule is a box of any kind you fill with memories. And I especially love Sue's idea to do this with your thoughts and even ask your kids on those. Take a piece of paper and write them down. Take Sue's PDF if you want some inspiration. Raising awareness on #HowToNoise and #HowNotToNoise I made the mistake to believe, that anyone can post to a channel without moderation, when it is set-up for "anyone can propose". I commented this just yesterday at https://noise.cash/post/1rgzqzj4 Today I received a moderation request for my chess channel that I had not expected. So there is not even a setting for everyone to post without moderation. Bummer! @noise.cash please change this. For this means that every channel that is created by an account that is abandoned can not receive new posts and needs a moderator every time. I'd expected a moderator can delete junk after it has been posted. Or for having it just right, block a post from displaying and propose removal for users to decide whether they want something to be deleted or posted to their feed (incl. comments).

We played Catan again today for the first time in a long time #deutsch unten It was really a coincidence, because it was the only game my son felt like playing after I decreed a day off from the computer today. Yes, that exists in our life, although it is becoming increasingly rare. Many opportunities of self-direction show their fruits. Anyway, this is the game I wanted to show you. We played the basic variant, as we were pleased that his sister/my daughter then joined us happily. The course of the game was marked by wonderful moments in which we not only traded and bartered with each other, but also gave each other gifts. The whole game in five pictures. I had soon taken the longest silk road (yellow) from my son (red), but my daughter later interrupted it again (blue). So in the end her brother won with 10 victory points. What's especially nice about the game today is that it reminds me of our beginnings here in FinSoc. I registered @anli on Hive in October 2017, when Hive didn't even exist. And it wasn't until December 2018 that I started blogging, with four posts on the game of Catan. And since it's still not easy to browse through old posts, I've linked all four right here as a memento. By the way, thanks to the media company Exozet, Catan is available at Steampowered and can also be played online from varying locations. Maybe we'll do that sometime? Let me know if you want to. Ja, das gibt es bei uns, wenngleich es immer seltener wird. Viele Gelegenheiten der Selbstbestimmung zeigen ihre Früchte. Das Spiel jedenfalls wollte ich euch zeigen. Wir spielten die Basisvariante, da wir uns freuten, dass seine Schwester/meine Tochter sich uns dann erfreut anschloss. Der Spielverlauf war geprägt von wundervollen Momenten, in denen wir nicht nur miteinander tauschten und handelten, sondern uns auch beschenkten. Das ganze Spiel in fünf Bildern. Ich hatte meinem Sohn (rot) bald die längste Handelsroute abgenommen (gelb), doch meine Tochter unterbrach diese später wieder (blau). So gewann letztlich ihr Bruder mit 10 Siegpunkten. Ganz besonders schön an dem Spiel heute ist, dass es mich an unsere Anfänge hier erinnert. Im Oktober 2017 registriert ich @anli bei Hive, als es Hive noch gar nicht gab. Und erst im Dezember 2018 begann ich dann zu bloggen, und zwar mit vier Beiträgen zum Spiel von Catan. Und da es noch immer nicht ganz leicht ist, in alten Beiträgen zu blättern, hab ich gleich alle vier hier zur Erinnerung verlinkt. Catan ist dank dem Medien-Unternehmen Exozet übrigens bei Steampowered verfügbar und lässt sich auch von verschiedenen Orten aus online spielen. Vielleicht machen wir das ja mal? Sag bescheid, wenn Du Lust hast. Die Installation ist gratis. (Leider noch nicht für Linux.) The bed is repaired the same day! #deutsch unten As already reported, the first day of the year was unexpectedly surprising. I, on the other hand, devoted myself to repairing the bed, while the two young people got lost on computers in other rooms. LOL Meanwhile, I first visited the basement workshop, where we are right now, and found some useful materials. I took the opportunity to immediately create a little more order, thanks to the empty shelves that we recently put there thanks to a gift from an estate. Doch ich will die Gelegenheit nicht verpassen zu erwähnen, inwiefern ich verachte, wenn Menschen täglich Fotos von Essen teilen. Ich störe mich nicht daran. Doch ich klicke weiter. Von gelegentlichen Ausnahmen freilich abgesehen. Ich mag es stets sehr, wenn Geschichten mit Essen verbunden sind. Hier gibt es von mir zu diesem Anlass darum nur den Abwasch. I love #Noise. And I like it #quiet #deutsch unten When I use noise and find a #channel I like to contribute to, since the abolishment of #chambers I more and more often find abandoned #channels. See for example https://noise.cash/post/lgkm3w96 or https://noise.cash/post/l9zxjvw3 First I try on occasion nevertheless a contribution in such channels, and am then completely disquieted, until a #Moderator reacts. Because if there is no active moderator anymore, a post fails after 24 hours. At least I have already learned that my post is not lost with that. It is displayed in my feed during the waiting time with "Pending approval" in the upper right corner. And when the rejection is there, I get notified about it and then get the options to delete the post, publish it to my feed or copy/paste it elsewhere before making a decision. I now have another channel started myself as well and am exploring the current moderation options. It is possible to freely allow posts and only moderate comments. I find that interesting. Whereas that can lead to channels being orphaned just the same. That's why I like it when there are no restrictions, like with chambers back then. But I'm happy to try it all out with you, instead of failing again elsewhere. And then maybe I'll change the settings again before I'm gone one day. Nun habe ich selbst auch einen weiteren Kanal gestartet und erkunde die derzeitigen Moderationsmöglichkeiten. Es ist möglich, Beiträge frei zuzulassen und nur Kommentare zu moderieren. Das finde ich interessant. Wobei das genau so dazu führen kann, dass Kanäle verwaisen. Ich mag darum, wenn es keine Einschränkungen gibt, so wie bei Kammern damals. Doch ich freue mich, das alles mit dir auszuprobieren, statt anderswo wieder mal zu scheitern. Und dann verändere ich die Einstellungen vielleicht noch mal, bevor ich eines Tages nicht mehr da sein werde. We planed to have scalloped potatoes with broccoli for dinner, that will roughly take us about an hour of mutual work and about another hour in the oven. However, we decided to go back to bed and joined each other one by one in one place little by little. So the four of us sat at the head of one of our beds and enjoyed our time together. Suddenly there was a jolt and it sounded like something slid to the ground behind us. We looked below where we sat. We had fixed the bed this year already, sure of it being a solid one. But better take a look. It turned out that two dowels were broken from our combined weight (about 460 lbs). And it was high time, because if we want to eat in two hours, there are now some things to do. My daughter (8), with my support, just bought and opened her first Splinterlands Chaos Legion Pack without using any fiat money. Since CL packs cannot yet be bought without a voucher, she admittedly needed a voucher to do so. So she also bought this beforehand. We got the idea when we saw that she has Splinter Talk (SPT) tokens in her Hive Engine wallet. She got these thanks to publishing blog posts for which her account has been put as a beneficiary, curated by accounts that have SPT staked. Sound complicated? Wait, it gets better. Sufficient SPT for a voucher and a CL pack we exchanged for Swap.Hive directly within hive-engine.com to get a voucher there first. The price had been dropping steadily lately since the CL edition came out. Once we had the voucher, we still needed credits to pay for the CL pack in-game. At first we wanted to pay for them via Swap.Hive. But it turned out that these had to be paid on-chain via Hive, instead of side-chain via the Hive Engine. To avoid having to swap Swap.Hive from the Hive Engine side-chain for on-chain Hive, which would incur fees, we swapped the Swap.Hive for 800 Dark Energy Crystals (DEC), which can be transferred directly to in-game without fees.
