Quantum Mechanics and philosophy

Quantum Mechanics says that we create reality by looking at it. This bizarre statement if thought deeply will surely blow our mind away how is it possible?

QM deals with the microscopic world primarily. This strange theory was established in the 20th century and has since then amazed scientists and philosophers both. QM is the gateway to the realm of consciousness and till now this theory has come closest to bridge the gap between science and spirituality. It is in the field of QM that science and spirituality have started overlapping each other, making it a topic of discussion and debate among philosophers and scientists. It is as if philosophy has become a branch of physics or vice versa.

QM says nothing is real unless we observe it. This means the laptop I am typing on is a reality because I am observing it. This means there is no laptop until I look at it. If I am not observing my laptop but still I know my laptop is there, but QM says that this laptop ceases to exist until I am observing it. Reality is created by observation. This has been experimentally proved on a atomic scale with objects like proton and electrons. And this theory is also applicable for objects of the size of a tree, table, hills, me and you. For even larger objects the quantum effects are so weak that such objects cannot be created now. But that doesn’t mean that it cannot be demonstrated for larger objects, it is just that the budget and the practical difficulties impede demonstrating this theory on larger objects.

It may seem too astounding for us but the philosophers and theologians say that it is not at all surprising. For them it that science is just catching up to what has been known by the ancient world. These ideas have been described in ancient scriptures. Decoding the ancient scriptures may lead to a better understanding at scientific level.

Ancient Sanskrit language scriptures are a gold mine on these matters. Now these ancient scriptures are seriously academically studied in various foreign universities to unlock the real knowledge. Max Muller was the first to translate some of these scriptures in German, and it is also said that Hitler funded projects to study ancient Indian scriptures to unlock the power of atom.

During the first testing of atom bomb Oppenheimer recalled a line from the Gita (a famous ancient Hindu scripture) - “Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds.".

Another famous book by Paramhansa Yogananda, the Indian mystic yogi who spread Kriya yoga in USA, ‘The autobiography of a yogi’ says about various miracles which now seems to be in the realm of QM.

I think the first book that exploited this idea was Fritjof Capra's "The Tao of Physics: An Exploration of the Parallels Between Modern Physics and Eastern Mysticism", which came 1975. It is true, however, that the Sanskrit literature is a rich source for this, as is, surprising for many, the literature of Arabian and European Alchemy. It is surprising to people because most of them tend to believe alchemy as being only about making gold - they know only of its vulgar forms.

Have you read my "What's special with Number 7"? There I elaborate a little about whether reality is subjective, a theme I have repeatedly returned to in other writings (not available on (readcash). If you want to read it, you find it here: https://read.cash/@Mictorrani/whats-special-with-number-7-47e6a9cd

I'm glad to see someone here writing serious texts. It is a pleasure to read yours.

That book by Capra was indeed a bestseller and opened up these ideas to the western world. The book by Yogananda is also a cult book. I haven't read your link you have mentioned but now I will surely. Actually we know so little about these things. Thanks for appreciating.
