Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. The 17th President of The Republic of the Philippines (June 30, 2022)
“I am here not to talk about the past, I’m here to tell you about your future.” - PBBM
Today’s the Signing of Oath of Office by the newly elected President of our country. He won on the last national election with 31million+ votes despite of all the negative propaganda that the anti-marcos people thrown towards his candidacy. His bad publicity somehow helps him to won the many hearts of the Filipinos.
But, is this really be the start of something new for our country? Or another beginning of a new dark history?

A Second Chance?

Philippines has said to have a dark past according to history books during the Marcos regime back in the year December 1965 to February 1986. There is no press freedom they said, and a lot of killings are happening in the country. That’s what the history has taught a lot of Filipinos. That Marcoses era was nothing but nightmare for our motherland. At least that’s what they are teaching at schools, but these days, some of the truths behind the past are slowly spreading into the media like a wildfire, because you know, we humans are tend to search for the truth and not just focus on a one side of the story. Surprise surprise, the digital era taught us to be our own FBI. History books doesn’t work anymore, for majority of the people know now how twisted and messed up those are.
But there are some people who remains to be brainwashed by the history books and black propaganda that the antis are doing. They seemed to be like that narrow minded kind of people who only listens to what they understand, and already have closed their minds for what might have been the real story behind everything. You can’t blame them anyway. For you can’t force a blind people to see when they already chose to look for nothing but darkness.
But does Marcoses really deserves a second chance?
In my opinion, it’s a YES. For God can forgive our sins multiple times, who are we to condemned him and his family for the rest of their lives?
Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others for their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
I may not be that religious person, but that’s something I know, at least. Who are we to judge the dark history of the past when we don’t even witnessed those with our own eyes? Plus the history books has been lying for many years, they’ve been twisted many times just to fulfill the right image of those people whose in power at the time event.
All those killings before and said corruption during Marcoses regime, they already paid for that, aren’t they? Like for example, Imelda Marcos’s collections of expensive shoes, paintings, jewelries, etc. has already been collected and returned before. And yes, their family might have been swimming on wealth back in the days, but aren’t every President that sat after him did the same too? Majority of politicians we know. Maybe some are just too good at hiding things? We can’t really tell. What we know right now are hearsay, or opinions, because we’re not really there to have witness everything that’s happening. But I do believe in second chances, and everyone deserves it. And although the sin of PBBM’s father has running through his blood whether he like it or not, we can’t really blame the man, you know. He’s just a boy that time who know nothing but to obey his parents. He doesn’t have the power to oppose his father even if he wants to. And though an apple tree bear the same fruit as well, those can have different level of sweetness, if you know what I mean.
Maybe a Marcos blood is running through his system, but he can choose to be a better man than his father, he can choose to go on the right path.
And though I didn’t vote for him on this recent national election, because Lacson was my bet for Presidency, as a citizen of this country, I chose to give him the chance he deserves. Who am I to judge anyway? I can’t simply put the blame into him just because his bloodline has dark history, his father’s sins are not for him to repent, but rather, he can be the way to correct all of those mistakes or at least prove his antis that he’s not the man they expecting him to be.
And oh well, haters gonna hate. You know sometimes, the problem in this country aren’t the kind of administrations anymore, but the kind of people living in it. Filipinos never get to be contented of who might been and might ruling the country. They only want someone when that person can sustain their needs, and wants in a government, but when things started to get out of their hand, then they will surely turn their backs to someone they once voted for, just like what the majority did for the former President Rodrigo Duterte.
This country will be doomed forever if the people who’s living in it won’t change their mindset towards any administration. There is no such strong kind of government when its own people will never give the support it needed.
Changes begin on ourselves, and not to anyone who’s leading the country. Change your ways of living, specially your mindset. Having a better life because of a better government is a scam. Work your ass off if you want your life to get better. That’s the real deal.

Hey! I’m not really into politics, but as what I’ve said, I’m dumping my thoughts in here. Hehehe and because today is the inauguration of our newly elected President, might as well share my not-so-related matter about it. Ciao! ‘Til next time.
what happened before was decades ago. we are in the new era with so much possibilities. why we stay hidden and kept the dark past, right?
