The first rule to be an excellent author is to be yourself, write about what suits you better if that means you are good talking about your own life then write about it, found a community of that topic and express your feelings.
Something most people do is to think blogging professionals can make easy income just like a pass of magic, believing in that only lead to fail, nothing online is easy need time to build your own niche of followers each of them will be supporting and making you become a better writer and their support will open a new range of challenges to improve better your write up skills.
Many times content creators adventure to topics that they don't dominate just because is where a better revenue could come, but forget that the same niche was built for someone else to reach that exposure and that's wrong, because the majority percentage of failure is big! Being yourself and writing about what you like and have knowledge about is better, people will notice and appreciate your job.
The second great rule, never be affraid to make mistakes, they will be a school and will make you become better!

Let me tell you this, each one of us sometime will have mistakes and no one is out to have them! Mistakes are part of your life and that makes you believe that you are alive and must overcome the mistake to become better author. The best authors in the world have done immeasurable mistakes but that gave them a lesson to do more and fail less, and today they are where they are!
The lessons we take from mistakes must teach us to be good authors and never give up from our dream, from mistake to mistake you learn something valuable.
