Stress is a natural response to a challenging situation. If it were not for stress, we may do things in life differently or take more risks, which can be beneficial at times. But there is a limit to how much stress our body and mind can handle.

Frequent stress is a common and unwelcome problem throughout society, at all ages and in all areas of individual's lives. It's an issue that continues to grow every year, as the pressure of work, home and social life become harder to manage.

It's an issue that we're consistently told to 'manage' through relaxation or mediation. Yet stress can take on many forms, it can be caused by a variety of reasons and individuals manage stress in different ways. As a result, there is no universal way to reduce it and no magic wand to make it disappear.

The same is true for stress! In an article by Giovanni Lobello, he writes: " The situation is not as simple as before. The impact of stress on our body is much more serious than before and the consequences can be deadly. Stress not only causes heart diseases, but also affects the immune system and triggers certain cancers ".

However, stress is a common phenomenon in modern society, which we cannot ignore. It is part of life and it's normal to have it sometimes; however, the way to deal with stress varies from person to person and it's a common misconception that being stressed out is itself a symptom of a problem. Actually I think it's the other way around. Having high levels of stress usually means that you are facing problems that need solutions and that there is something important at stake-one reason why stress can be so helpful.

What we should do, then, is to learn how to better manage stress.

Stress is a common response to events people face daily. The stress that you feel may lead to a few minor adjustments in your life, but it can also cause significant harm to your health.

Research has shown that stress is linked to a wide range of health problems, including high blood pressure, depression, heart attacks, and even cancer. In fact, stress is the leading cause of death in the United States today, according to the American Psychological Association (APA). This means that more than illnesses such as heart disease and cancer, stress is killing us.

Stress has even been linked to accelerated aging. The APA estimates that the effects of stress may actually shrink your lifespan by about 10 years. Overall, stress has led to more than $300 billion in healthcare costs and lost wages each year.

The worst part about stress is that the vast majority of people who experience it have no idea how much it's impacting their health. Stress tends to sneak up on people; you feel stressed today, but think nothing of it since you felt the same yesterday. Meanwhile, your body is working overtime to fight off the negative effects of stress and slowly breaking down.

No matter what type of stress you're facing, whether it's work-related or otherwise, there are ways you can improve your life and better handle these situations.
