Never forget your source

The summary of my article today is " Never forget God". There is a say in my dialect that says a river that forgets its source shall surely dry. Already, I have written so many things about thanksgiving to God and man in some of my past articles. Ultimately, thanksgiving is simply not forgetting God and people who are supportive in your life.

One thing that every Individual must always remember and be thankful to God for is the gift of redemption. Indeed, God created man, but man fell into sin and eternal condemnation through the manipulations of Satan, but God in His infinite mercies made a Way for our redemption from sin and condemnation. 

So, even if you cannot find any reason to thank God, as a Christian, you should always thank God for your salvation in Christ. Don't ever forget God in all your endeavours. It is God that has brought you this far, it's not by your own making or wisdom. Do you know that you can constants write articles without running out of ideas, he deserves your praise.

Also Whatever position you may find yourself in today, It is God that has brought you this far. You must always remember that it is not by the power that you got to this position in life but by the grace of God. You might not be where you wish to be yet, but you must always be thankful to God along the journey of life. 

King David in the Bible lived a life of thanksgiving. David always remembered where God picked him up from. David was just a shepherd boy keeping his sheep in the jungle among wild animals but in that lowly and lonely position, David was always thanking God. God chose David from that low position and caused him to be anointed by Prophet Samuel as the next king of Israel. Most of the psalms written by David were songs of thanksgiving.

At the time he was composing some of his psalms, David was going through some tough situations, King Saul was after his life, a bounty was placed on his head and all the soldiers in the country were after him to either arrest him or kill him, he was betrayed by some of his people, at some point, his son was after his life but in all these things, David always gave thanks to God. David did not just thank God when things were going well for him, when the situation was tough and rough, David thanked God. 

As individuals, when we go to church, it should be to worship God in thanksgiving and praises. Anyone attending church without thanksgiving to God is missing something very vital. Singing and dancing in worship before God is also thanksgiving. Bringing an offering or tithe to church is also thanksgiving.

Finally, whatever you decide to do to worship God in thanksgiving must come from your heart, it should never be by force as God is searching every heart. Thanksgiving shall never cease in your life. Let us make Thanksgiving a habit, and we will keep flowing in blessing.
