King of champions

There was once a young potential boxer who is so hungry for success. For him winning was everything and success was measured just the winning. One day the boxer was preparing himself for a boxing competition in his street, himself and two other lightweight boxers are to compete. This fall on a public holiday and gave room a large crowd gathered to witness the fight on the community Sporting field.

A retired old boxer upon hearing a lot about the young boxer, heard about the fight and came from a far distance to witness the fight. The first fight commenced, looking like a level bout. But at the last round there successful young boxer dug deep and called on his determination, strength and power. He gave his opponent a heavy knock that knocked him out at the last round. The crowd was ecstatic and cheered and waved at the young boy.

The old boxer came with a little boy they were both not identified, he remained still and calm, expressing is sentiment. The young boxer however felt proud and important. The second fight was called, and a new young, fit, challengers came forward, to fight the young boxer. The bout was started, and the young boxer came through easily winning the opponent once again. The crowd was ecstatic again and cheered and waved at the young boxer. And same with the old boxer he remains still and calm, again expressing no sentiment. This time the young boxer made the crowd know he is proud and felt so important, another fight, another fight, the young boxer keeps shouting.

The little boy told the old boxer that he can win the young boxer. The old boxer pretended as if he didn’t hear him, he repeated himself and the old asked him what makes him believe he can win the young boxer. He said the young boxer is proud, and only believe in his strength, with the skills the older boxer taught him he can win the fight. The old boxer was happy and took to the stage to challenge the young boxer for a win. On getting to the stage the old boxer mentioned his name everyone shouted and could now identify him.

He invited the little boy to the stage and challenges the young boxer for a fight. The young boxer laughed and said he would knock the boy out at the first round and will end him up in hospital. A day was fixed for the match and a better venue was chosen. This got a lot of publication and several people were betting on who wins the fight. The young boxer keeps boosting and jesting that even if the old boxer joins the little boy to fight him, he sends him to his grave.  

The d Day has come and everyone is gathered before the slated time for the match. The commentator invites the little boy to the stage calling him David of our time. Also, jesting this David will be forgotten soon and laughed. Time to invite the young boxer everywhere was full of noise, Champion, champion, Champion!. The first round began to everyone surprise the little boy was skilful and doge most of the young boxers punches. Within a short time round one, two, three was completed.

Now people began to hail the little boy and this began to confuse the young boxer. Suddenly, the unimaginable happened the little boy knock down the young boxer round four ends. Not long into round five the little boy hit the same spot that made the young Boxer falls, he fell this time and couldn’t continue the match again. There was a great ovation from the crowd with shouts king of champions, King of champions. The match ended, but the young boxer was left with shame.

Few weeks after he went to visit the old boxer to apologize for his wrongs, and possibly ask where he missed it. He was warmly welcomed by the old boxer and embrace with love. After his apologizes, he then said to the old boxer where do I miss it. The old boxer look into his eyes and place his hands on the young boxer shoulders, and replied softly you see in life, in your life winning should not be the only measurements for you. Always know that

·        People stop cheering you once you are not meeting up with their requirements

·        You win some you lose some Never neglect the advice of elders
