Question

You fought too hard

just to give up in the end.

You hurt yourself

Just to love someone.

You survived Just to surrender

but can you still call it a wise choice?

When you gave him life

but you forgot you used to have your own.

That is a question I would like to ask for those people who burned themselves like a candle just to give others light.

wake up.

choose a love that will show you how love truly works, not one that will leave you questioning your worth.

I first posted it to other platform a year ago and a fellow poet commented

To give up/surrender is sometimes the wisest choice. Such as an abusive relationship, you give and give, try and try but they only take and think of themselves. You can love them but the wisest choice is to leave.

leaving doesn't mean you are weak. when in fact sometimes it is the bravest decision one could make

love--> pain --> chances--> love--> pain--> chances--> pain

the cycle repeats

if love is no longer present

and pain is all what's left,

ask yourself a question

is it still a wise choice?

one mistake is forgivable, same mistake maybe is worth a second chance

but a repeated mistake turns into a habit and you have to reevaluate what's really best for you

if that habit is not easy to break

and the cycle keeps on going.

someone has to cut it. Someone has to end it
