There is always a lot of discussion about life altering decisions in our lives. Yes, some decisions are bigger than others. Important than others. Conspicuously make more impact than others. Do you choose science or arts? What subject do you want to major in? Who do you want to marry? Such pivotal decisions in effect determine which path you take in life.
But there is a certain neglect when it comes to little decisions. Do you pickup phone and scroll through news feed or write 500 words immediately after waking up? Do you start off on that big task or postpone it? Do you give up your seat voluntarily for that old man standing in the metro?
Just as big decisions are turning points in your life i.e. they determine which path you take, it is the large number of small decisions that shape who you are. They determine if you would compromise your self respect in a relationship. They determine if you would choose painful honesty over belying half truths.
But can we always invest so much time and energy for every small decision? This is where principles come into picture. Sticking to principles helps make these small decisions easier.

Failure and success are result of a process. Hence they are seen as events. However it's important to understand that the outcomes are rarely precipitated because of a single momentous decision. In fact they are shaped by innumerable tiny decisions taken everyday. These tiny choices add up over a period of time determining the outcome.
