A letter of my dreams

Dear Dreams,

I have loved you dearly, for all these years. People have walked in and out of my life like the seasons, but you stayed on, like a dear friend. Everyday, when I close my eyes, and slip into deep slumber, I see you transform me to a different person. There was always a mystery around you. Questions on how you form, and take shape, how you pin things into the brain, and open up in layers.

The more I delved into solving the mystery, the more clueless I became. After I decided I no longer wanted to solve it, I enjoyed you for whatever you brought in my sight. Some days, I see myself traverse through snow clad mountains, and dance in the rain. Sometimes, I see myself being chased by someone or be involved in a fight with UFOs and aliens. I wonder, how you secretly slip in these incidents, and create magic out of it.

Also, you are like the dual action hero. One that enters when we sleep, and one that doesn't let us sleep. Like the one Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam had once quoted. I'm glad I could experience best of both the worlds. I see you make me your captive in sleep, every single day and also push me a step ahead on the path to success, by letting me know how much you mean to me.

I dreamt of becoming successful. You helped me perform well academically. But when I left a part of you behind, you reminded me, how important it is to satisfy not just the mind, but heart to. You fuelled the courage in me to follow the right path, and led me to whatever I am today. Thank you for bringing joy and smiles, and sticking by me through thick and thin.
