Understanding the devastating power of earthquake and how to prepare for them

Greetings to all, last night there was a strong earthquake so i wanna write about it:

Earthquakes are one of the most destructive natural disasters that can occur. They are caused by the sudden movement of the earth's crust, which can lead to the shaking and displacement of the ground. Earthquakes can cause immense damage to buildings and infrastructure, and they can also result in loss of life. We have seen this all in recent turkey earthquake.

Earthquakes occur when the earth's plates move suddenly and release energy. These plates are massive pieces of the earth's crust that float on top of a layer of molten rock. These plates are constantly moving, but they can become stuck together due to friction. When the plates finally release and move, the energy is released in the form of some waves, which cause the ground to shake.

The severity of an earthquake is measured on the Richter scale, which ranges from 1 to 10. An earthquake with a magnitude of 1 is not noticeable, while an earthquake with a magnitude of 10 is incredibly destructive. The magnitude of last night earthquake was 7.7. We all suddenly ran down stairs as we live on 3rd floor. It was a frightening experience for me.

There are several ways to prepare for an earthquake:

During an earthquake, it's important to seek shelter in a strong building or outside in an open area away from buildings and power lines. If you are indoors, stay away from windows and heavy furniture & try to move out of the house. If you are driving, pull over to a clear area away from buildings and bridges, and stay in your car until the shaking stops.
