Legendary Final Fantasy Artist creates first NFT Collection
My jaw dropped and hit the floor when I saw this news!
The legendary Japanese artist, Yoshitaka Amano, has chosen to enter the world of NFTs and create his very first NFT Collection.
If you are familiar with a little video game series called, Final Fantasy, then you know of Yoshitaka Amano's work, as has designed every single Final Fantasy logo in the main series.
He has many other contributions to the Final Fantasy series, including iconic character designs and illustrations. However, in my opinion the logos are the most iconic are instantly recognizable pieces of art, for obvious reasons.
The famed artist has also worked on many other projects, including "Vampire Hunter D", "Sandman: The Dream Hunters" most notably the anime adaptation of "Speed Racer".
Creating this limited edition NFT collection on Astar is not only important to Japan, but also to Astar’s vision to bring the East to the West, fine art to blockchain technology, and introduce international leaders to the Web3 world. - Astar Network
Yoshitaka Amano has agreed to release this exclusive collection, Candy Girl, on the Astar Network.
The Candy Girl collection will feature 108 "angels".
Never heard of the company before now, but Astar Network describes themselves as "a multi-chain smart contract platform that supports multiple blockchains and virtual machines".
Astar Network published a blog post on Thursday, September 29th announcing the exciting news.
We will build a Web3 entertainment site for the Candy Girl collection to take root in our ecosystem and branch to new galleries, entertainment, or design. Candy Girl will lead the way for Japanese content creators to own their art, music, and stories, but engage with a global audience and business. A stage where digital art inspires new Japanese novels and American Broadway shows. NFT ownership of fine art will have a direct connection to real-world value through our partnership. - Astar Network
There is no official word on when this NFT collection will drop, or even when Astar Network will have their "Web3 entertainment site" up and operating.
The blog post advises to follow @candygirl_nft Twitter profile for any updates on the Candy Girl NFT collection.
