Skin
I'd say the first secret to an external beautiful skin is clean pores.
Why?
Because once your pores is clean, products get absorbed, making your skin glow and healthy.
Note that there are some factors that influence skin health, such as;
Genetics
Environment
Hormones
Health conditions.
We can't control all these factors but there are things we can do to get a glowing and healthy skin.
To maintain a naturally glowing and healthy skin, all you need is a simple and effective daily external and internal beauty care routine.
Firstly, before mentioning any beauty care routine(s); we need to establish what you want to accomplish on his or her face and body and get routines that suits you.
Do you have lots of acne?
Do you have clogged pores?
Is you skin looking so dull?
Are you stressed?
Are you eating right?
Is your skin condition hormonal, due to genetics, due to health conditions, reaction to products or as a result of clogged pores?
Those are the things we need to determine first.
We often try random beauty care routines found on the internet without realizing that not everything on the internet is worth following and also, what works for someone may not work for you as we all have different skin types.
We need to build our own inner and outer beauty care routine to suit our specific skin care challenges.
You don't need another person's beauty care routine.
I'll share general tips for taking care of your skin, both externally and internally.
EXTERNAL BEAUTY CARE TIPS;
° Face massage: this aids product absorption and also increases blood circulation.
° Cleansing: this helps remove make-up, dirt, and excess oil from the skin. Invest in an effective cleanser (one that is gentle and pH balanced). It is important to cleanse your skin daily (morning and night).
° Toning: toners also help remove make-up, dirt, dead skin cells and oil from the skin.
° Moisturizing: these add water (moisture) to the skin. It is best used after cleansing or toning in order to trap the moisture in the skin.
° Exfoliating: this is the removal of dry skin cell. It keep pores from becoming clogged and it leaves your skin feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. It is recommended to exfoliate about 2-3 times a week.
Invest in an effective scrub for your body. You can buy it or make one for yourself.
Note that, over-exfoliating (using scrubs more that 3 times a week) can lead to skin irritation, dryness, and can also make one age faster.
° Sun protection: this is very important as sunlight contains UV rays which can cause burning. Applying sun protection before going outside is an easy way to prevent sun burn.
Note that when choosing an SPF, look out for the one that is SPF 30 and above and of course, look out for a product that suits your skin type.
Make sure to apply sunscreen to all areas of exposed skin.
° Take short shower with cold or look warm water. Avoild taking long, hot showeras it is not doing any good to your skin.
INTERNAL BEAUTY CARE TIPS;
A healthy diet is good for the skin and it is very important.
Avoid foods that are high in sugar, saturated fats and salt. Instead take fresh foods (fruits and vegetables), whole grains, healthy fats, such as olive oil, avocado, and nuts.
Also drink lots of water as it improves the skin appearance.
You can also practice guided food abstinence (fasting). When your body is in a fasted state and not concerned about digesting food, it will enter self healing mode which includes naturally balancing it’s hormones and getting rid of skin problems.
Getting enough sleep is also a very important beauty care routine. Tired mind and body shows on your skin and makes it appear dull.
Lack of sleep can accelerate aging process. 7-9 hours of sleep is needed to achieve a healthy and glowing skin.
Reduce your stress levels. Try to avoid things, people or environment that is out to stress you.
No matter what product you use or what food you eat, it will never glow as much as it is capable of until the stress is removed from your life.
Healthy skin is something that most people can work towards.
It is important to note that healthy skin does not mean perfect skin. Perfect skin is not attainable. Skin can be healthy and glowing, while also having normal characteristics, such as, visible pores, wrinkles, birth marks, and occasional blemishes.
PS: know your skin type and go for products that suit your skin. Remember, what works for someone may not work for you.
I'm open to suggestions/corrections.
