I was in Tehran in Oct 1979 just 2 months before Khomeini arrived. The people opted for a socialist revolution, which, in many ways like the first original revolution in Russia in 1905, which was taken over by the Bolsheviks, it was then taken over by the Fanatic Islamists. Very sad!
Yeah very sad. Socialism sucks too. I have watched images of the times. 90% of the population seem trappped.
In a way - the two have one thing in common: A small group of people who turn their country into a poor society which then becomes 100% reliant on their leaders. These people have no regard to "the people" and always end up living like kings.... Sort of what the DNC wants in USA... (my humble opinion)
