Uninvited Guest
Let us all be reminded that prevention is better than cure this statement does not only apply to our health but as well as our safety at home. What will you do then if somebody entered your home uninvited?
In this article I’m going to share to you some ideas or pointers on discouraging a home invasion and what to do if that happens by means even if you live in a mansion or a gated village you are not safe. Some intruders may be the one who work with you or who live in the same village much worst neighbors. It is better to prevent than not knowing at all. I got all these ideas and pointers from Mona Sabalones and picked up the most helpful one.
I talked to one of my long-distance friend (from Manila) today through messenger and I was worried about what if- what happened to them (friends family) will also happen to me or to somebody else? She got recently experienced home invasion in their rented house in Manila. She said “she pretended to sleep when invader entered their room” she was with his sister and its 3-year-old child who are both asleep when this happened. All thanks to God that everyone is safe.
This worry brings me to write an article about it.
Discouraging a home invasion
Your window grills must be strong enough if intruders will try to cut it using their tools, if sliding windows try to make it more secured. Your entrance and exit doors should require a key for inside and outside.
Trained a dog, never ever underestimate a dog, you can train your dog to become a guard dogs . Dogs are very protected to their homeowners so trained them to become a pack leaders.
Plan where to escape- suggested by Mona Sabalones, which I totally agree is to have an escape window that a grill can remove from the inside ready for your family to escape anytime. Or a secret door that connects you all to the secret hideout.
If you’re alone and you don’t recognize the caller or you don’t have an expected guest don’t open the door. Make sure also to lock all the doors and closed all the windows. don’t post online that you are all alone and lonely they might joined you.
Be careful who you enter into your house, if something weird or unusual changes has done. Fix it already.
Intruders enter your house/room
My friend is lucky enough that nothing worst happened, in case you still have a time to protect yourself and escape, then use your brain as your best weapon. Call a police, barangay Tanud or people who can help you immediately.
Used a fire extinguisher, spray intruders in the face to blind them.
Use other weapon such as knives, pens or any sharp objects.
If things get serious don’t play a hero try to escape at the risk of getting injured or hurt.
They came for something so make sure that your safety box is safe.
Your family can have a code word in case of emergency like “ditch” or “escape” or any other word that meant for trouble or home invasion.
Let us all be safe.Thank you for reading
