Virus Attack Yesterday my friend told me an incident that shocked me, his chicken farm suffered a viral attack and caused all the chickens he kept to die. I am very sad to hear that, I hope he is strong enough to accept the disaster he has experienced. Virus attacks can occur at any time. Chickens that are infected with the virus can be seen from the color of the chicken's comb which turns purplish and the feces are green. Actions that can prevent chickens from contracting the virus are cleaning the cage, spraying the chicken coop with disinfectant, and always giving antibiotics to increase body resistance every 2 weeks. Prevention is better than cure, always discipline in keeping the chickens healthy is part of the fun in raising chickens.

Merawang Chicks Arrive A few days ago I bought Merawang chicks from a friend of mine, whose house is very far away and has to take a train for delivery. And now these chicks are in my chicken coop, they look very adorable and I hope these chickens can grow well and multiply in my chicken coop. One of the advantages of these chickens is that they have good growth and can produce lots of eggs. Their golden feather color makes them look like ornamental chickens and fits my criteria very well.

Cross Chicken This is a breed of chicken that is crossed between a broiler and a layer chicken, producing a thick meat breed and fast growth. I have always liked this type of chicken for collection only. I'm currently waiting for a chicken shipment from a friend, which was sent via train because I have to travel a long way. Maybe tomorrow it will arrive at my place. After several times raising many types of chickens, I will keep only one type of chicken because of the limitations of the chicken coop and also the cost. That's why I chose the Merawang chicken breed, which grows fast and pure (never been crossed with other types of chicken) and lays lots of eggs. I hope my dream this year will come true.

Signs of Chicken Disease When we raise chickens and see they are less enthusiastic, we must observe the color of the chicken feces. So that we can give the right antibiotics according to the symptoms suffered by the chickens. For example, the color of the chicken's stool is green and the chicken looks lethargic, the chicken has fowl cholera. The color of the chicken's stool is watery white and the face is swollen, as well as respiratory problems, the chicken is attacked by Coryza poultry. And many other types of chicken diseases, therefore we must be alert so that the chickens can be helped and can survive. All types of chicken diseases can come from bad bacteria and viruses. Therefore, we must pay attention to the cleanliness of the place to eat, where to drink water, and the drinking water itself.

Distinguishing Roosters and Hens Hi friends, I'm back here, for the last few days I've been busy, and now I can make another post here. This time I will explain how to distinguish the sex of a rooster and a hen at the age of 1 month based on the phenotype. What is the phenotype? Phenotypes are physical characteristics that we can observe in living things. It seems they look very scared to see me haha, yes because they have only been in my chicken coop for a few weeks, previously I bought these chickens from my friends. I marked the picture in the shape of a red circle, and look this is a male gender, the cock's comb looks big and bright red. And the head shape looks bigger. You can guess the blue circle, yup, that's right, this chicken is female, the female's comb looks smaller and the head shape looks smaller too. Are you still confused about the difference? Let's discuss here.

Mixed Feed This is chicken feed that I mix with rice, because in order to save on chicken feed costs, we must use other alternative feeds as long as we understand the appropriate dose for chicks aged 1 month and over. The price of chicken feed in my country has started to rise a few days ago, maybe the effect of war, so chicken feed ingredients are becoming scarce and of course this factory making chicken feed has to increase the price of chicken feed. Because most of the ingredients for making chicken feed it was imported from abroad. Chicken breeders must be creative and innovative to process chicken feed ingredients so they don't spend too much money. Of course, it doesn't reduce the nutritional value of chicken feed. Chickens stay healthy and nutritional intake is still met.

Golden Chicken I named this chicken Pretty, because she has a very beautiful golden feather color. She is very shy when I want to hug her. This type of chicken is a native chicken that has very fast growth, according to chicken experts, the origin of this chicken comes from a miner from China during the colonial era who came to Indonesia with this chicken. And settled in the islands of Bangka Belitung, Merawang which is one of the provinces in Indonesia, then breed there. And at that time the locals named the chicken china because they did not know the name and the one who brought this chicken was indeed a Chinese person, then the local government patented the name to Ayam Merawang. And until now, many Chinese people in Bangka Belitung use this chicken for religious rituals.

One Pair of Chicken One pair of chickens can be a lot? The answer is yes, but it will take 1-2 years to wait, during which time we have to keep waiting and work hard while taking care of the existing chickens. If we want to learn how to raise chickens, start with one pair of chickens, learn from feed that is appropriate for the age of the chickens, chicken health, chicken biosecurity, etc. The more we learn, the more experience we will get. If you are afraid to learn, you will not get anything. Until now, I still like to learn how to raise chickens, because the knowledge of chicken farming is very broad. I am not ashamed to ask seniors who have a lot of experience in raising chickens so that my experience will continue to grow.

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

Training a Standing Chicken When your chicken is paralyzed and can't stand up, keep paying extra attention and don't forget to give vitamin D to keep the chicken's legs standing firmly. This chicken was paralyzed because the size of the chicken coop was too small for him and he continued to grow big rapidly. Immediately I gave him a new chicken coop, and I always trained him to stand and walk every day. Now that he is starting to learn to walk on his own, I am very happy to see him actively learning to walk. When viewed from above the feathers of this chicken are very beautiful. He will become a handsome and dashing rooster someday.

Chicks Hatch Today my chicks hatched again. And I've moved them to the warm coop and the food is ready. Watching the chicks hatch, it puts me in a good mood. My chick-warming cage only uses a yellow light bulb that has made the chicks quite warm. This is where the chicken breeders are tested, the mortality rate of chicks is very high if we take care of them wrong. But I only use my feelings and experiences to keep the chicks alive. Experience will make us continue to learn to gain new knowledge in raising chickens, because every chicken farmer has different knowledge and not all are suitable, it's all due to differences in weather, temperature and climate, but we need a suggestion to increase our knowledge in raising chickens .

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

Nutritious Chicken Feed Nutritious Chicken Feed helps to accelerate the growth of chickens and keeps the chickens healthy. If we provide feed that is not in accordance with the needs of the chickens, they will be thin and get sick easily. During raising chickens, I always experimented and came to conclusions as I said above. In addition to nutritious feed, probiotics also play a role in helping the absorption of nutrients. The next stage is the cleanliness of the cage, as long as the chicken coop is clean, comfortable, odorless and free from viruses, the chickens will always be healthy. If we pay attention to this, then the death rate of chickens in the chicken coop will decrease.

Merawang Chicken Package Today the Merawang chicken package that I ordered from my friend has arrived. There are 5 Merawang chicks. Anyway, if you don't know the adult Merawang chicken, you can look at this link: https://noise.cash/post/xgn233zcr8vv My plan is to focus on developing this Merawang Chicken in my village, because no one has kept this type of chicken. According to the Merawang Chicken Breeder, these chickens have very fast growth and the taste of the meat is also delicious. Hopefully these 5 chicks can grow up and produce many offspring in my chicken coop.

Playing in the Backyard The dry season has begun, the hot and sunny weather has stabilized lately, it's time to release the chickens to play in the backyard. the chickens were very enthusiastic and loved playing in the dirt and eating grass in the backyard. Especially this beautiful chicken, she is the result of a cross between a Madagascar chicken and a Brahma chicken, physically 50% Madagascar : 50% Brahma. She is 4.5 months old, maybe in a few months, she will lay eggs, I let her play in the backyard until the afternoon, after that she goes into the coop to rest and eat, that's how I welcome the dry season with my chickens.

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

Waiting Every morning the neighbor's chickens always come to my backyard, they always come when I feed my chickens. The neighboring chickens are very aware of my schedule to feed my chickens. They always come with an empty stomach. I really feel sorry for them. I share my chicken food with them. The neighbors let their chickens find their own food and rarely pay attention to the nutritional needs of their chickens, the important thing is that healthy and profitable chickens are enough. For me as long as I can feed my chickens it is enough to make them survive and breed.

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

Biosecurity in Chicken Coop This afternoon, while the weather is hot, I sprayed the chicken coop, this is one way to prevent the chickens from being attacked by viruses and bad bacteria that stick to the chicken coop. I do this action once a week. I only use bleach and dish soap. It's economical and very useful in chicken coops. Viruses and bad bacteria are the enemy of chicken farmers, if you don't spray the chicken coop, mass death can occur in our chickens. Sometimes the chickens suddenly become paralyzed and their eyes swell and so on. Prevention is better right? That's what we have to pay attention to in our chicken coops. They are healthy, we are happy too.

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

Chicken Scratches A lot of struggle and patience in taming chickens, one of which is like my hand haha, lots of chicken scratch wounds. Every day I try to tame this chicken https://noise.cash/post/2gw6mm7c95rr he always rebels and claws at my hands haha, i'm not angry and hate him but i'm quite happy because he is too cute haha. The character and nature of chickens are different, some are immediately tame, some are not, as has happened to me.

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

Favorite Chicken Feed They are waiting for me to get their favorite food, this is their favorite food. If they are impatient then this plastic wrap can be torn off with their beak haha. This is a collection of chicks of various ages that I have posted here, they already look big because they eat diligently. So far these chicks are very healthy and agile, these are crossbred chicks and they have a very good and fast growth. Hope they can grow to maturity so that it produces a lot of chickens in my house.

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

Tense. Looks like he's not ready to be photographed with my cellphone camera haha. This chicken is very difficult to make friends with me. Because he always rebels whenever I gently catch him. This is my friend's chicken which was entrusted to me. He is a laying hen and I use his services to produce offspring that have genetically many eggs. The color of the feathers of this chicken is very attractive. The name of this type of chicken is amrock chicken, he is still very young and immature if he is used as a broodstock, so I train him in the chicken coop so that he can be a good and reliable father someday haha.

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

Merawang Chicken This type of merawang chicken from Bangka Belitung, Indonesia, this is my friend's chicken, the color and shape of this chicken really made me fall in love. This is a type of native chicken that has very fast growth, the taste of the meat is very good. And if you look at this chicken, it is also an ornamental chicken because it has a beautiful feather color. Hope someday I can have this breed of chicken in my chicken coop, I can't wait to raise this breed of chicken.

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

Very Adorable This afternoon I accompanied and supervised the type of broiler on the right, because she wanted to play with the ground and didn't want to be bored in the cage. Of course she is the attention of this Madagascar hen, I keep an eye on this broiler because Madagascar chickens are a little jealous of her. This type of broiler is a type of chicken that has very fast growth and is very fat. And of course very greedy in food. It's been almost 3 weeks that I have kept her in the chicken coop, she is still healthy. Her round body shape is very cute.

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

Drying the Chickens While Cleaning the Grass This morning I was drying my chickens, while cleaning the grass in the backyard which had started to thrive due to the rain every night haha. Incidentally the weather was sunny so I decided to do a little activity in the backyard. My chickens looked very happy playing with the ground and jumping here and there. Look at the neighbor's kitten seems to want to play with the chicken, but my chicken looks very scared of this adorable kitten.

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

Eat Feather This afternoon I noticed that there was something different about this hen, she always eats the feathers of this Madagascar rooster. While other hens are never like that haha. Maybe she was helping to pull out the feathers of an old Madagascar rooster, until now I'm still observing her behavior. Don't let this Madagascar rooster get bald and lose feathers because his feathers are eaten by his wife. Haha

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

Full again The fridge shelves are full of eggs again, that's the result of a few hens laying eggs for a week. And my mom asked for eggs for Easter so I had to put eggs on the fridge shelf. Raising chickens is fun if we feed our chickens with nutritious food, they will definitely give us eggs. Eggs are the most nutritious food, I remember that since childhood my family and I could only eat 1 egg to eat together, and now everyone can cook 2 eggs, and can mix eggs with instant noodles without having to buy at the store.

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

Panic Today I tried to separate this Madagascar chicken wife, into the chicken coop next door which he was peeking at, as you can see in this picture. He was very panicked and didn't want his wife to be taken by the beautiful hairy Barred Rock rooster, he couldn't stay still, always pacing here and there screaming to see if his wife was okay. He is always watching his wife behind the bars of the chicken coop haha, as if to say don't separate me from the wives I love. Seeing him pacing and screaming I felt sorry for him so I decided to just return his wife haha instead of my chicken coop being crowded and noisy haha. Yes, that's how chickens live, if we separate them, the chicken coop will be very noisy haha.

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

Comfortable look at this female Madagascar chicken very comfortable in my lap, I always stroked her head every time I visited her in the coop. She is the only chicken who behaves uniquely and is different from other chickens. Love and warmth to chickens will make them comfortable and recognize who their master is. I want to have lots of chickens like this, which are always adorable and make me spend a lot of time in the chicken coop.

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

A few days ago, my friend came to my house to exchange his chicken for mine, he brought this native chicken. I gladly accepted it. I hope this chicken can produce lots of eggs in my chicken coop. However, I prioritize friendship between chicken farmers and mutual support for one another and build communication between chicken farmers, it's very good to add insight and friendly relations between chicken farmers strong.

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

Chicken Meal Menu. My chicken meal menu is very simple but still pay attention to the nutritional needs of chickens, I always give wet feed to chickens. The food ingredients for adult chickens that I use are only mixed feed, minerals, probiotics and leaves. The leaves that I must use in my chicken feed are papaya leaves. It is very healthy for my chickens. Every day I take papaya leaves from the papaya tree, I need a lot of papaya trees for the survival of my chickens haha, because now my papaya tree is bare of leaves haha.

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

Sufficient Mineral Source Egg shells with white spots like this indicate the hens are in good condition, meaning that the mineral sources in their feed mixture are adequate. This makes the shells stay strong and not easily cracked or soft, and the chicks will remain healthy in the shells. That is the use of mineral sources in the chicken feed mixture. Mineral sources can be obtained from nature or artificial, if from nature, usually chickens can find them themselves. Meanwhile, artificial mineral sources can be purchased at a chicken feed store in packaged form.

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

More than 1 year old This Madagascar hen is more than 1 year old, you need to know that this Madagascar hen is the mother of the chicken that just laid eggs yesterday, which I posted here https://noise.cash/post/765jr6gd3vmm I got this chicken from my friend and then I raise it here, yes even though she looks old but still actively laying eggs. Old chickens can be seen from the feathers that are starting to thin and the leg scales are starting to thicken. I still love this chicken, she is still very healthy and still spoiled with me.

@YopiHendriantoOnNoiseApp

First egg Today I got an egg in the chicken coop, it turns out that this Madagascar hen lays eggs for the first time, I am very happy that she has learned to lay eggs. I'm looking forward to the next egg. Even though at this time she is very shy about laying eggs. The first eggs are large. Hopefully she can lay eggs smoothly in the next opportunity :).
