Waiting In Line

I had been waiting in line for almost thirty minutes to take care of something when I heard, over the loudspeaker, a woman, out of nowhere, say my name and say number five.
I stood up, then turned to face the other queues, bowing slightly towards them while touching the right front edge of my gray fedora hat as a sign of respect.
" Sisters in line...," I said... Just as they were all looking at me, I said in a questioning tone, " anyone want my autograph? ".
Some of them burst into laughter, others were so confused that they could hardly believe what I was saying. After that, calmly, I walked to counter five.
