Naturaleza no tan muerta. (ESP)
Personalmente la primavera nunca me gustó mucho, el cambio es muy brusco y la energía que fluye a raudales me resulta excesiva, en cierta manera se puede decir que me desconcierta. Pero he de reconocer que a la naturaleza le debe sentar de maravilla ese cambio.
Este es un algarrobo que está literalmente muerto, o así lo parece, pero de sus entrañas alguna parte de él ha vuelto a renacer. No parece muy grande, no sé si es una recuperación para volver a mostrar sus mejores galas, pero lo cierto es que alguna parte de él se ha revitalizado con el empujón energético de la primavera.

When you go to other countries with different cultures you can find situations that escape your way of understanding the world.
In this particular case, I was not the one who took the shot because I found the situation curious. It was the man who was having his hair cut in the middle of the main street of Talkeena (Alaska), he was the one who asked me in an unfriendly way to take a picture of him. It is clear that with the gadget he had in his hands, I did not hesitate much to listen to him. Then, with the same rude manners, he gave me his address and demanded that I send him the photos.
The stuffed bear in the background gave the scene a surreal touch.
If you come from a culture where guns are almost non-existent among the population, and you go to a place where people carry and display them in the street, you don't feel very comfortable, but if they demand that you take pictures of them, the next thing you do is to disappear from the place. For peace of mind and for principles. I never sent him the photos.

Cuando vas a otros países de culturas diferentes te puedes encontrar con situaciones que se escapan a tu manera de entender el mundo.
En este caso concreto, no fui yo el que realizó la toma por que me pareciera curiosa la situación. Fue el hombre al que le estaban cortando el pelo en plena calle principal de Talkeena (Alaska), fue él que me pidió de una manera poco amable que le hiciera una foto. Está claro que con el artilugio que tenía en las manos, no dudé mucho en hacerle caso. Acto seguido, y con los mismos modales rudos me pasó su dirección y me exigió que le enviara las fotos.
El oso disecado en el fondo la acababa de dar el toque surrealista a la escena.
Si vienes de una cultura en la que las armas entre la población son casi inexistentes, y vas a un lugar en el que la gente las lleva y exhibe por la calle, no te sientes muy a gusto, pero si encima te exigen que les hagas fotos, lo siguiente que haces es desaparecer del lugar. Por tranquilidad y por principios. Nunca le mandé las fotos.

When a tourist rolled down the staircase and lost his life, they closed the pyramid.
It took one life, as far as we know, and many injuries, for the authorities of the archaeological site of Chichen Itza, in the Yucatan, to decide to ban the access to the top of the pyramid. For them it was not foreseeable, no. For anyone who has visited the site, it was obvious that going up and down the staircase was a real danger, but the managers and authorities preferred to look the other way as long as nothing serious happened. What is really serious is that those responsible are still the same people who had to prohibit it in the face of the evidence.

Tuvo que costar una vida, que se sepa, y muchos lesionados, para que las autoridades del sitio arqueológico de Chichen Itzá, en el Yucatán, decidieran prohibir el acceso a la parte alta de la pirámide. Lo grave realmente es que los responsables sigan siendo los mismos que tuvieron que prohibirlo ante la evidencia.

An essential part of photography are the monochromatic images, or if you prefer, black and white with its variants in sepia, selenium and other tonalities. They are the origins and they are still there, as a substantial part of the two-dimensional image.
This photo would probably not have the same strength if it were presented in its original colors, but developed in black and white it acquires dramatic tints that make it much more attractive.

I love the panoramic format. When it is not an extreme ratio it adapts much better to the angle of vision of the human eye. As a fact we have that modern television screens have a 16:9 ratio, a moderate format, but much more panoramic than those 4:3 monitors of the dawn of the digital era.
This is an image formed by 6 vertical (portrait) photographs and joined with a specific program to make panoramas. The place is a small marine corner in the north of the island of Ibiza, with the typical fisherman's huts.

Me encanta el formato panorámico. Cuando no es una relación extrema se adapta mucho mejor al ángulo de visión del ojo humano. Como dato tenemos que las pantallas de televisión modernas tienen una relación de 16:9, un formato moderado, pero mucho más panorámico que aquellos monitores de 4:3 de los albores de la era digital.
Esta es una imagen formada por 6 fotografías verticales y unidas con un programa específico de hacer panoramas. El lugar es un pequeño rincón marino en el norte de la isla de Ibiza, con las típicas casetas de pescador.

In most of the singular or public buildings, the construction process is monitored. This monitoring produces visually very attractive scenes, even if you are not interested in the sector or do not know it, you may find it interesting.
I think this is the case in which the interior structure of an integral reform of a university building shows the aesthetics of a metal framework.

This time it is a singular building in the Argentine capital, the Naval Hospital, the work of the renowned architect Clorindo Testa, who was one of the advocates of the brutalist style, although in the design of the hospital he did not follow the guidelines of the style that made him famous.
I have processed the image using a solarisation technique used in analogue photography at the time the hospital was built.
