The small Balearic island of Formentera is famous for having the cleanest and clearest waters in the Mediterranean Sea, and this is because it is surrounded by posidonia meadows, a seaweed that purifies the sea and keeps it healthy and clean.
This image is taken on the popular beach of Ses Illetes (the little islands), located in the north of the island and within the Natural Park of Ses Salines, having a high degree of protection.

Back in the day we photographers used film to record our work. There were several types of film, basically black and white negatives, slide film and colour negative among other less used.
An important part of my archive is in slides, and a little part of them are scanned.
I have published in the analog film community at Hive a tiny storytelling about an important religious festivity in Yucatán, Mexico, registered in slide film back in 1998.

Autumn at last!
Living in a place where tourism is the main industry is sometimes torture.
We have had a truly oppressive high season, sweltering heat, hordes of cruise ship tourists and almost two million visitors looking for paradise beaches with the added bonus of nightlife. Very stressful even for those who are not directly related to the tourism sector, as they have to put up with traffic on the verge of collapse and a decline in the quality of public services.
All these inconveniences are almost invisible to visitors who spend at most a week among us and have practically no contact with the reality of the residents. So, when autumn arrives and the holiday crowds disappear, we breathe a sigh of relief and that is when we start to enjoy the place we live in again.
Photo of the historic centre of Ibiza, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

All the maps lie.
I am a map addict, and I consider that for one reason or another all maps lie. This one might be an exception in part, though, as it is a compendium of historical information and the author's imagination, and it presents a completely different vision of what Africa would be like if we Europeans hadn't come down to raid and colonise. Is the map lying? Strictly speaking, yes. But if we go for the imaginative side, it could be qualified as fiction, and can fiction be qualified as a lie?
Devised by Swedish artist Nikolaj Cyon, this map depicts what Africa would look like today if European colonialism had never appeared on the African continent. (Africa's current borders were largely determined by colonialism, which still creates many very serious problems today). Cyon drew these borders based on a survey of political and tribal units in 1844, the eve of Europe's "scramble for Africa". He oriented it with the south at the top to reverse Europe's traditional orientation at the top.

Hello everybody.
I would like to introduce myself with an image that represents my work and also my passion, architectural photography. Although during more than 30 years of profession I have touched almost all areas of photography, in the end, what I really enjoy is capturing the essence of buildings. I leave here a sample of my work with an image of the library of the Humbold University in Berlin.

This is a sample of an important part of my work, making time lapses.
On this occasion I had to mount the slider at ground level in order to capture with more emphasis, the assembly of the moving columns.
I took 250 pictures and each shot was taken at a frequency of 3 seconds between each one. The whole set was perfectly levelled for perspective correction.
