The German Shepherd dog
Most dog breeders like to imagine that their breed goes back into antiquity.in fact as dog breeds go, the German Shepard is relatively modern.its origins go back to Germany and the last two decades of the 19th century. At that time there existed in Germany a number of German sheepdogs which were of very mixed appearance. There was a variety of colours ranging from wolf-grey through to white and even piebald. There were short, long and wire coats, and ears that were erect or dropped,as well as numerous other variations. In fact, these dogs were a mixture of types and a mixture of ancestry.
Feeding
Principles
Feeding is vital, not only to the health and well being of your Shepard, but it is going to have an influence upon the dog's physical appearance. Although construction is largely predetermined by the genetic make up of the dog, it's influenced,to some degree,by the way the dog has been fed and reared. In an extreme case, inadequate feeding could lead to rickets which would affect leg length and construction to such a degree that the dog might bear little resemblance to it's genetic potential
I actually got this from my dad, because he is a dog rearer, most especially the German Shepard dog.
FEEDS AVAILABLE
There are three basic ways of feeding dogs.one is the traditional way of raw or cooked meat (often tripe) plus biscuit meal. The second way is to use canned food, with or without biscuit meal, depending upon the nature of the canned feed. The third way is to feed what is termed a complete diet; which usually means a dry food, though it can sometimes be fed in a moistened state.you will find advocates of each of the three methods, just as you will find owners/breeders who are violently opposed to a particular diet.
Why is water important to dogs
Water is essential to life.you can last longer without food, than without water. Meat is made up of some seventy-five per cent water, and though you may not think of your dog as meat, that is largely what its body is composed of. Water is an essential component of muscle, and it is needed for the excretory system. The kidneys are involved in this, and they require liquid intake to function effectively.
Basic Training
If you have a dog, then there's a need to train that dig. If you have a bright, intelligent and large breed, such as the GSD, then the need to train it becomes Even more obvious. A trained dog is a joy, an untrained and unruly dog can be a serious liability and, at a time when there is increasing pressure being placed upon dog owners, unruly dogs are the last thing anyone wants.
