Except Vs. Accept
Except- not including
EXAMPLE: Take all of the spices in the spice rack except the paprika.
Accept- to agree to recieve or do
EXAMPLE: I will accept your job offer.
Advice Vs. Advise
Advice- an opinion or recommendation that is offered as a course of action
EXAMPLE: Let me give you some advice, don't trust people easily.
Advise- to offer an opinion or suggestion
EXAMPLE: I advise you to take notes during this lecture because the teacher might give a surprise quiz.
Coarse Vs. Course
Coarse- rough
EXAMPLE: Igneous rocks tends to have a course texture.
Course- a direction, a school subject, part of metal
EXAMPLE: The toy car finished the circular course in just a short span of time.
