My Spider X I was intrigued by this type of spider whose web is found made under the guyabano tree. What is most visible is the big white X mark where the spider's legs are carefully aligned and it's body located at the center of the X mark. I search in Google as to similar photos to identify its name and found one similar color at this site, https://spiderid.com/picture/56499/. It said that the spider was found in Siargao, Philippines. It is called Argiope appensa (Hawaiian Garden Spider). Would anybody know why this spider made an X mark on its web? Is it to attract insects or prey? I'm just curious. My own content and own photo.
