Health update: Journey to recovery.
Date: Tuesday, March 22nd.
It's a fine morning in this part of the world. The weather seems cool and the sky is clear, i think it's a given after the heavy storm last night. I had a good sleep and felt like I could do some writing this morning. So, I decided to give an update to my health.
In my last article "Weekends and unfortunate events", I gave reasons for not being able to work fully in the last week. It was an unfortunate situation for me. I wondered when it would pass so I could get back to doing what I wanted. Currently, I feel better. Strange, because I haven't gotten my full medication yet. Last night's rain was more like a blessing, really, I feel refreshed and it made me sleep like a baby. Although, I still feel pain in the bottom left side down of my stomach. I'll, eventually, need to get that checked out as soon as possible. I hope to be a hundred percent before the end of the week.
Prioritising Health
It's safe to say that many humans fail to place importance on their health. Eating good food, exercising, and getting the needed rest to be refreshed in order to perform is essential. A lot of people spend time working many hours on a daily basis. Often times, we forget how to prioritize our health as we should.
Recently, I spoke with a friend and she explained how incredibly tedious and wearisome work gets. For a student, she does a very good job of balancing school activities with work. We spoke at length, advised each other on taking breaks, taking proper mediaction and being open to ourselves whenever the time calls for it. I'm glad to have someone like her as a friend. Thank God for her!
Once, I felt it wasn't necessary to put my body under stress by going to gyms to take exercises. As long as I could eat good food and get good sleep I was going to be healthy. Well, I was half right. Plus, school did quite a number on me. The whole stress was on a different level. Perhaps, it all accumulated and therefore my obvious situation. Smiles!
Low Stress
Stress is basically emotional pressure. That is how I would define it. The meaning itself has said more than I could possibly explain. We constantly give efforts to making ends meet for ourselves and families, that's reasonable.
Everybody has this moment when they feel the need to relax, but somehow we do not. Rest is essential, there's no overstating the fact. Taking time - whether once or twice a week dedicated to rewinding and recharging our batteries sometimes goes a long way. I know, I know... "What about sleep, don't we sleep to recharge our batteries too?". Of course, you're right. Sleep is good for our bodies. It is even medically advised we take no less than 8 hours of rest each night. Take me for example, I sleep approximately 7 hours every night. Sometimes it's less. I just happen to wake up and it usually feels like I don't take enough sleep at all. Well, with the way our body is built varies and some people intentionally train their body enough to adapt. The point of it all is to always take the needed rest as at when due. At the right time, always.
Greetings!
