-Calabash Fuit- Is it really a miracle fruit? I checked again the fruit of our Calabash plant. It has grown markedly in size in just a month. From the young bulb (second pic) to the bigger one (first pic) it's now 58 centimeters in circumference. That is quite fast. There's a couple of them actually, the very first fruit is hidden but I managed to take a snap of it somehow (see the third photo). I reproduced this plant from the stem cuttings which were given by a priest friend from Mindanao. All the three cuttings have successfully grown but decided later to cultivate only one tree since they occupy a great space in the yard. What remains is the one planted beside our old tiny nipa hut in front of the main house. For the time being I don't have any plans as to what I gonna do with these fruits. I've been hearing many good things about them yet, I need to do more research on their medicinal values. For the meantime, I just content myself on beholding with awe upon these green round fruits that are as big as my head. Do you know/have any firsthand info about this touted 'miracle fruit'? I haven't tried it yet. According to some it is sour. The size is the same as watermelons.

Yan ang pinost ko sa kabilang noise:). Narinig ko sya from my trainmate at gumaling ang kuya nya from cancer. Kaya tuloy dami kong tinanim na ganyan sa lupa ng lolo ko, from seeds naman sila. Matagal-tagal pa mamunga, pero feeling ko miracle fruit talaga sya:)

Nakaka-amaze kasi sya kasi anliit ng sanga nya tapos ambigat nung prutas. Mahirap lang talaga sya i-cut ano kasi matigas yung pinaka-shell nya🙂
