Hi amiable friends, writers, readers and my future sponsors. hope you all are doing well and making the best of the day. well i’ve been on and off for a while now because of power issues in my area. we seldom get electricity for up to an hour. they bring and take it back almost immediately and don’t bring in back till after a day or two and all this is happening at a time where the weather is so very hot and sunny. People are going through a lot really but thank God i am here now right?😌

This topic came up in a very dramatic way. I was with some my friends who are designers and programmers. we gathered together in the house of one amongst us to ponder and create a roadmap for an ecommerce idea that came about just recently. Kelvin the project manager suggested that we watch a video clip that will prep our minds up for what we wanted to do so we all channeled our eyes towards the screen. It then got to a point which i think is the key highlight of the video by the event that followed where damian said “fellas this pink color for this is a bit too exaggerated” someone replied almost immediately “this isn’t pink bro this is purple”. in a few seconds, this turned to an argument bickering every where. when i looked at it myself, i saw purple and not pink so i joined team purple as everyone except our project manager belonged to either team pink or team purple. we were actually looking up to him to make a statement and take a side but then he choose to stand on the neutral ground.

Curious to know which team is correct or wrong, we took a picture of the object in contention and used ai colour indicator to determine the color which turned out to be pink. we all laughed at ourselves and each other as the winning team make fun of team purple. it’s their win so we allowed them bask and then we later proceeded with the main reason for the gathering.

What a moment! the meeting was a success. i got back home smiling while thinking of the event that happened earlier. how did i not notice that it’s pink ehen? i was trying to justify myself in my head for that blunder when a scenario came up in my mind. Some what if's: If someone who is known to be rich is seen begging for alms on the street three things are bound to happen 1. Some will say sorry to him and try to help 2. Some will say he's paying for a sin he committed 3. Some will say he's trying to take advantage of peoples kindness having enjoyed himself spending lavishly on luxurious items and now he's broke trying to take advantage of people's kindness. All three sect of people have same eyes but why are they viewing differently?

Another scenario: When a puzzle is being given, 1. Some people having looked at it will say the puzzle is hard. 1. Some will try to solve it maybe in an hour or two 3. Some will say it's easy peesy and then solve it in 2 minutes or less. What the similarities of this people? They both looked at the puzzle with same eyes.

Last scenario: When a religious leader is seen going into a restaurant at night with a lady side by side how will people respond? Three things again 1. Some will say he's having an affair with the lady 2. Some will say he's with a church member 3. Some will say he's with his wife or sister.

In all of these three scenarios, the eyes are being used but then the results are different. It's supposed to be the same why? Because every eye has got same shape, and the same components except for color and those with eye defects and we know that the eye is the object of vision. So why the difference in results?

There's something playing an important role in our vision that our biology didn't include as a vision object. It is so effective that it can even function in the absence of the eye's.

What is this Vision component? It is OUR MINDS EYE. Despite the name, it’s not a giant eye in our mind. It’s actually the place in our head where images are recalled and created. Everything you’ve ever pictured or imagined was in your mind’s eye. I like to think of it as a giant movie screen at the front of my head like in the movie Inside Out influenced by owledge, past experiences to interactions with people which inturn affects the way we view things. Have you ever auto predict a word from your head that's not in the text you're reading? That's your mind's eye at work.

Now I know why I saw a different colour -;I was imagining something else like a look alike if what I saw sometime ago. Good justification!

Thank you for your time

Our mind is making an interpretation of sensory stimuli. That interpretation is based on previous experience and knowledge, but also on belief and prejudice. What we really feel that we are seeing, is what we believe we should see.

You are very correct. It's astonishing how our beliefs can control this things
