The new complexes, built in less than two weeks, will only treat patients with coronavirus. Other clinics in a megapolis isolated from the rest of the world are overcrowded.
Chinese builders commissioned the temporary hospital Hoshenshan in Wuhan, the epicenter of the new coronavirus, on Sunday February 2.
The whole process of building the medical institution took only 10 days. The workers were at the construction site 24 hours a day.
Construction of Huoshenshan Hospital began on January 24.
In the evening of January 23 on the site arrived 35 excavators, 10 bulldozers, 8 road rollers and began to level the ground. The corresponding design plan was completed the next day, January 24.
The work was carried out around the clock. The premises have an area of 33,900 square meters and will be able to accommodate 1000 patients in the hospital. 1400 military physicians will accept patients infected with coronavirus here.
The second Leichenshan Hospital is scheduled to start operating on February 5. It will have a capacity of 1300 beds. Construction of this hospital began on January 27. Here, 4900 people and 1000 pieces of equipment were involved in the works.
The construction is carried out from prefabricated modules, which makes it possible to complete it in the shortest possible time. Nevertheless, it is amazing how many workers, equipment and necessary materials were brought to Wuhan in such a short time.
In the first days, the builders had to work 12 hours a day - there was a shortage of staff. Now the work is carried out in three shifts.
Construction does not stop even at night and in the rain. The workers must wear protective masks. From time to time all builders take temperature measurements.
Twitter unexpectedly flooded with photos of famous objects, and accompanied by their identical signatures: "Wow, there are two days left!". To the message that in China in an incredibly short period of time to build a hospital for 1000 beds for coronavirus patients, users responded by creating an internet memo.
According to the official media in China, the construction of the hospital was given only 10 days. Some publications reported even tighter deadlines: the hospital in Wuhan should be built in 6 days. It took the builders only 16 hours to erect from the blocks of the first building.
The incredible speed of construction of the hospital surprised the Russian-speaking users of the Network, however, many commentators noted that a building built using this technology can be used no more than a year.
