So, I saw a very funny fake news while scrolling Facebook yesterday. I literally started laughing over that news and I thought who would consider this news even true. But then I realized it's Facebook and most of the FB audience believes everything true no matter how nonsensical and dumb it is. Most of the fake news is circulated on Facebook and other social media platforms and the masses start believing it.
The news was that Narcotics Control Bureau decided to check Aryan Khan's Whatsapp chats and his father Sharukh Khan shut down Whatsapp servers for 6 hours. 😂
The good thing was it wasn't spread by any sensible media news pages. It was spread by some personal FB pages but as I said, you can expect anything from FB audience as they will consider anything true and even start spreading it.
Firstly, Whatsapp messages are stored in local storage so they can be easily traced by checking his cell phone. And secondly, Mark Zuckerberg lost $6 Billion due to Whatsapp, Instagram, and Facebook downtime and Shahrukh Khan's net worth is $700 Million. So technically Sharukh khan can only afford to shut down Whatsapp for only 42 Minutes and why would he spend all his money when he can bribe the institutes and dismiss the case even in a few days.
My advice would be to cast him in some patriotic movie and his character will be cleaned like a whistle. That is what Bollywood has been doing for all this time, fooling the audience. Whenever an actor gets stuck in a law case and all his image gets tarnished. They started starring in some patriotic movies and tries to change the perception of people for him and unfortunately most of the time he gets succeeded in changing it.
Anyways, I am going off-topic now. My topic was how social media platforms are used to spread fake news for different agendas and propaganda. Some politicians spread it with the help of their hired social media teams and sometimes big anchors are also used to circulate the fake news for their political gains. Communal fake news has resulted in murders and violence against a specific community. Like a prominent Journalist, Tarek Fateh once shared a morphed image and claims Madrasa's teacher is trying to portray Islam as superior to hinduism. Don't consider this news normal because this news can resulted in mob violence against a specific community.

The problem with fake news is, that it is posted by one user and shared by hundreds and thousands of users online. Some spread without any knowledge of it while some share it to spread their propaganda. It results in adding fuel to the flames which becomes fire and that fire takes everything that comes in its way till it's very late when the truth arrives.

I would advise everyone to not believe everything instantly they see on social media. Do your own research to verify if the shared news is true and authentic. And don't spread it before verifying it. Because major news spread on social media are lies. Facebook is on top as it is the place where most of the news is fake. I believe Twitter has less fake news as I have found most of the Twitter users educated and sensible enough. Therefore, they can easily identify if the news is fake or not.
