Sudden effects on children because of absence in school..
This is based on my real experience on my children because of the pandemic they need to stop schooling and do their learnings at home.
As I observed for having my kids at school they start learning day by day. And having loose of attendance is not a good idea because students should not miss more than 5 school days in any given school year. And if this allowed to persist, the impact can undermine childrens prospects for their academic achievements
And my eldest is that good to be true, she even dosent want to get sick because I will not allow her to attend her class. I remember her elementary days she will cry if I will not attend meetings that her teacher told her. I remember I got into school and I was looking for parents like me I couldn't find them. I ask her teacher ma'am wheres the meeting? She replied (while wondering) "we have no scheduled now mommy" then I said, huhh? My daughter told me to come because you announced will be having one. Teacher said, ohh she might mis interpret maybe it will be by next week.. then I laugh softly but my eyebrows are already wrinkled because I leave my undone chores all because of the meeting she's talking about. The teacher just assist me to the gate of the school and I said im sorry ma'am for interrupting your class its just she'll cry if I will not attend. It's nothing to worry your daughter is very productive she might not compete as well but she's very smart and its all that matters. Then I just got home with a smile. But even projects she want to pass the materials that are needed in the right time and date. But sometimes those things are hard to find good that my auntie can provide those stuff. She also told me that my eldest is productive. She got a long way to go And I'm proud of her and I believe she can do a lot more.
We were so proud of her. To somebody its only a little achievement that she had made but for me it's a lot my daughter is too young to handle this kind of prssure because this was the time that I'm pregnant and got a little spotting so she has to handle all the chores in our house especially when my husband is not around luckily my 3rd child is in my laws. She do the laundry little by little, cleaning the floor and we cook rice for the whole day so we won't be bother to do it all over again. She was only 13 years old that time. But she managed to handle those stuff and got honors that we didn't expect she'll have.
Then the pandemic came..
Sometimes she'll ask me mom I'm about to graduate or to moved in grade 11 did Iearn something?
Those are the sudden questions that this pandemic had done to the children now a days. Maybe they stop the face to face classes because the department of education wants to help the preventing of the virus from spreading but they also stop the learning thoughts of a child. Not everyone can afford to have a online learning maybe they can or they cannot but there are high frequency needed to cope or to understand the teachers lesson. Like stable signal, good quality phone, quiet place to focus and to let the child concentrate. We didn't choose online learning because we can't give what they want. Our house in not that big for my kids to concentrate as well, internet connections are not stable we don't have WIFI either we only buy load to have provide a data.
Sometimes choosing let's the child to feel that can we still learn from this guidelines? They feel confused, first theyll feel it's like a having a full filled vacation, but they didn't know nothing about this before. But we can do nothing about the changes that the pandemic had applied.
So we decide to have a modular learning. I'm the who gets their modules and then we will study those stuff. The disadvantage of modular learning is sometimes answering those questions, we need to done it rapidly in other words they copy the answers at the back of the module. Why? I was having lack of time to my kids, house chores, and our baby. But as weeks passes by I handle the situation even if it gets harder. I need to teach my grade 5 and kindergarten students also my eldest is having some difficulties so I need to guide her. There was also a time that I thought we can't made it to pass on time but luckily the teacher allow us to another chance.
There were also a time we thought we lost My daughter's answer sheet. Please take a time to read...
Their sudden changes are:
My son Is on 6th grade and teachers haven't decide if they'll allow to have a face to face learning. My son also said that's its OK to have more modules rather to go to school. The lack of confidence is the fact that they dont want to go to school once more and that's a lot of convincing. Its like repeating the scenes when they were little. But I strengthen my self as mother. So thats the reason why I'm here. They already got a long with their modules and we hope to see them on school once more....
Conclusion:
It's not that they have no choice, students will remain students until we can still manage to provide their needs in learning. And it will make them strong from studying, focusing, listening and trying to have the person they wanted to be.. Their dreams and goals are the key so they stood up high and continue being a student either its online, modular, or face to face.
