When is it observed?

Magh Bihu is the festival of hunger. It is observed in Assam. It is also observed in other parts of India with different names like Makar Sankranti, Pongal, etc. It marks the end of month 'Puh' and start of 'Magh'.

How is it observed?

As Magh Bihu is the festival of hunger, people enjoy the fest consuming varieties of food and meat. People make pitha, a traditional food/sweet. There are varieties of it. People make it to consume and serve the guests on this occasion. People also make maji, that is a house built of dry banana leaves or straws for day to enjoy the feasting night that is not inside their own home. The next day early morning , the majis are burnt.

I enjoy Magh Bihu a lot. This is the fest where your belly can swell up hahaha. Visit your relatives and you can not run away from variety of tasty tasty foods.
