Passwords Are Not "Dead"
What is a password, and why is it essential for all Internet users?
I am sure that most Internet users know well what a password is and why it is vital in cyberspace. Still, I will write a short text about it!
Passwords are still a widely used and essential means of authentication and security, despite the emergence of other authentication methods.
While it is true that passwords can be vulnerable to certain types of attacks, such as guessing or phishing, they remain an effective and convenient way to protect sensitive information and systems.
Passwords must be strong and unique.
However, using strong, unique passwords and managing them adequately is crucial to minimize the risk of password-related security breaches.
A good practice is using a different password for each account, avoiding reusing old passwords, and avoiding using easily guessable or predictable passwords.
Organizations and individuals are also using other forms of authentication, such as two-factor authentication, which combines a password with another factor, such as a one-time code sent to a phone or a fingerprint scan, to provide an additional layer of security.
But, some people are saying [passwords are "dead"]
Some celebrities and so-called philanthropists (like BG, i.e., similar in the sound of the meaningless phrase "BullGut") and a part of cybersecurity strategists have been saying a new phrase on the Internet, "
Passwords are dead."Some new security service providers and a few big tech corporations also actively promote passwordless hype.
But, passwords are not "dead," but it is vital to use them responsibly and consider using other appropriate authentication methods.
Passwords have got a more predominant role in providing online data security of the global Internet users.
And, the data include both financial and non-financial assets.
