Both boys hugged each other for several minutes. When both men finally released each other, they accidentally looked into each other's eyes. When it happened, everything changed. Ethan knew he had fallen in love for the first time ever in his life.

Ethan ran across the finish line first place. All that day he kept thinking about Sawyer. If it had been a girl Ethan would've been smiling from ear to ear. Plus, he would've told the girl how he felt. With Sawyer being a guy, he wasn't too inclined on telling him. Not until he was able to look into the situation more deeply. He was sure Sawyer was straight, but he still couldn't shake the feelings he had. Day by day they had only gotten stronger. As he thought about it now, looking back, Ethan realized he had been drawn to Sawyer for quite a while.

Ethan went into the locker room in a daze thinking about Sawyer even more, and ran right into the captain of the football team. "Ow," both guys yelped simultaneously. Tyler Terrance saw that it was Ethan and instantly forgave him. Everyone knew and loved Ethan. "Sorry about that buddy. It was my fault," Tyler said. Though truly it had been Ethans'.

"No it was mine. Sorry about that." Ethan smiled and hurried by. He changed back into his school clothes then made his way back into the school building. Ethan walked through the halls looking for Sawyer. He didn't see him anywhere. He went through the motions and attended all of his classes, then went home and got some sleep. He was grounded for four more days so he couldn't really do anything. He was still feeling kinda bad over disappointing his parents, so he tried to avoid them so as not to make matters worse.

Ethan woke up to the sound of his cell phone ringing. It was Sawyer.

Ethan's heart starting beating hard in his chest. Breathing in, Ethan answered the phone.

"Hey Sawyer! What's up?" Ethan sounded much softer than he meant to, but played it cool.

"Hey. I was wondering if you still wanted me to come over and tutor you. We still have three sessions this week."

"Yes," Ethan said. "Please do. I will remind my mom."

"Ok."

Ethan said bye and hung up.

The doorbell rang and Ethan answered the door. He answered it a little too eagerly because Sawyer was amazed at how fast the door opened.

With a big smile, Sawyer met Ethan's gaze. "Wow, that was fast."

Ethan smiled and pretended to laugh heartily. Realizing his mistake, Ethan took a deep breath as they made their way into the living room.

I need to relax, Ethan thought.

Sawyer sat down on the sofa and opened Ethan's calculus book. Ethan walked over and sat down beside him.

Looking at the book, Sawyer then looked at Ethan. "Do you remember where we left off Ethan? After last time, I sorta lost my itinerary and lesson plans on this?"

Nervous, Ethan did his best to remember where they last left off. In no time at all, Sawyer gained momentum. Before they knew it the session ended.

Sawyer was headed for the front door with his bookbag when Ethan called his name. Sawyer turned around bemused.

"Yes."

"Would you like to come over tomorrow and play "Call of Duty"? I could use your wit on how to beat this one area I'm stuck in."

Sawyer's eyebrows raised slightly. Ethan took it as a sign to be careful. It was clear Sawyer was still hurt over their last fight.

"Sure Ethan. Sounds like fun."

Breathing a sigh of relief, Ethan smiled. Inside though, he was a mess. It obviously took more time for Sawyer to get over things than it did Ethan.

"Sawyer," Ethan said. Sawyer turned around again. "Listen. About the night of our fight."

Sawyer listened on. "I wanted to tell you how sorry I was for the things I said. You're really an amazing person. Otherwise you wouldn't win those awards all the time."

Sawyer smiled. "Thanks Ethan. I appreciate you saying that."

Ethan returned the smile.
