Is drinking alcoholic a sin in the bible?
It is not a sin to drink alcohol.. If you should drink, it ought to be in moderation... And not to the point of being drunk, else you face the consequences of being a drunk
Simple abstain and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Stop trying to justify. When u know the difference between sin and works of the flesh u won't mix things up.
Ephesians 5:18-19 And *be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess;* but *be filled with the Spirit;*
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Paul prescribed a little wine to as a medication to Timothy and not a means of justifying alcohol
1 Timothy 5:23 Drink no longer water, but *use a little wine for thy stomach's sake* and *thine often infirmities.*
Is the motive that counts .
Verse 18 says: Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,
Ephesians 5:18
Sin is denying Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour
Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding.. is a very Powerful tool.
I believe we all know what the English word used (drunk) means. (It means excess taken of alcohol) I am not saying this because i am a lover of alcohol, of course not.
Let not create unnecessary fear in the minds of people that drinks, like that is an hindrance to making heaven, Leaving the true message untold.
N.B. It wasn't sobo our Lord Jesus Christ was taken before been label as a drunker, because he was actually eating and drinking with the unbelievers.
Let me make it clear that Christ actually drink alcohol "let go back to the bible please"
LET IT BE UNTO YOU ACCORDING TO YOUR BELIEVE.
I don't drink alcoholic drinks and I don't condemned those that drink also. I know that excesses of alcohol is bad.
Romans 14:15-23
[15]And if another believer is distressed by what you eat, you are not acting in love if you eat it. Don’t let your eating ruin someone for whom Christ died.
[16]Then you will not be criticized for doing something you believe is good.
[17]For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
[18]If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you, too.
[19]So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.
[20]Don’t tear apart the work of God over what you eat. Remember, all foods are acceptable, but it is wrong to eat something if it makes another person stumble.
[21]It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything else if it might cause another believer to stumble.
[22]You may believe there’s nothing wrong with what you are doing, but keep it between yourself and God. Blessed are those who don’t feel guilty for doing something they have decided is right.
[23]But if you have doubts about whether or not you should eat something, you are sinning if you go ahead and do it. For you are not following your convictions. If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning.
Let me share what happen today
I met a good boy putting on earring on his ear alot of people has talk to him but he refused to listen, then I ask the person he was working with he told me he has been talking to him but he refuse to listen. I know this boy for sometime now he is good but his mood of dressing you with think he belong to a cult.
So I went close to him an preach to him and immediately he listen and remove the earring. Some minutes letter some came in and accused him for what cult boys did before while he was not among them, until when he mentioned who is mother was before the man believe him. Why?
Because of his mood of dressing.
What am I trying to say.......
What am I trying to say we don't just meet people and this is a sin you are sinning etc . Or meet people and say alcohol is a sin, you are sinning etc
Check the drugs we take, alcohol is there... Even in some cakes, bread alcohol is present. Don't just drink to the detriment of your health if you can't say No to it.
Thanks
Clear and nicely The reasoning does make sense
