Everything belongs to God. He uses govts, the Church, parents, neighbors & nature to deliver His blessings. We must give back to God thru them too.
In the 1st Reading, God used the pagan king Cyrus to free the Jews from Babylonian captivity. In the 2nd Reading, God used Paul to free the pagan Thessalonians from captivity of sin.
God works wonders thru man & nature. As members of His Kingdom, we must contribute to its betterment & make it a better world.
Today is World Mission Sunday. Lets do our mission & be used by God to give the world His greatest blessing, His Word.

"Woe to u, scholars of the law! You've taken away the key of knowledge. You urselves didnt enter & u stopped those trying to enter."
Discipline is needed to raise up good children. But there's a danger of setting up too many do's & don'ts that could cause rejection of our good intention. We might become "scholars of the law," setting up so many rules that make religion look like handcuffs, instead of the key that releases God's people from the prison of selfishness into the joyful freedom to love.
A life lived w/ Christ - acting justly & loving generously - is more effective in our children's minds. Instead of obscuring their path, we ought to be the light that help them discover Christ & realize His dream for us.
There is no more fear

In today's culture there's no more fear of sin & judgment, & very little reverence for God. There's no more right or wrong, any choice of lifestyle is okay if it makes one feel good.
St Paul tells us that these will result in sexual immorality, eagerness for lustful pleasure, hatred, outbursts of fury, drinking bouts, orgies & other godless behaviors.
Criminality wont be solved by police action alone. Parents must teach their children about sin & hell, & demonstrate to them love for God.
St Paul says this will result in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness & self-control.
Dont u want these for our children?

Christ tells us to persevere in praying & never to give up hope.
He assures us, "Ask & it will be given u; seek & u will find; knock & it will be opened to u."
This is not a promise of an instant answer. What Christ is saying is that we need to consistently ask, seek & knock in order to acknowledge that we need God. If we have no need for God, we wont listen to His guidance that keeps us away from harm & on the path to heaven.
We need to pray & wait because it's good for us. Children who are quickly provided w/ all luxuries in life never grow up. Our Father wants us to be persevering. When our faith, hope & love for Him become mature, we'll see that His unfailing answer, in whatever form it may come, is the very best.

Today is Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Mary prayed & waited 9 months, then she became Christ's Mother. Mary prayed & waited 9 days w/ the disciples after the Ascension, then she became Mother of the Christ's Body, the Church, on Pentecost.
Mary is our guide thru the Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful & Glorious events of Christ's life.
The family that prays together stays together. Daily Rosary cures the brokenness of families. Rosary brings together & transforms the family into a garland of lives, linked by love for each other.

Angel of God, my guardian dear

When we were children we learned the beautiful prayer, "Angel of God, my guardian dear."
Today is the Feast of the Guardian Angels. In God's love, He commits an angel to each of us to guard us from birth to death to the gates of heaven. "I am sending an angel before you, to guard you on the way and bring you to the place I have prepared." (1st Reading)
They go up to heaven to report our situation, petitions and actions (Gospel). They come down to bring us God's message and grace. Legions of them worship God with us at each Mass.
Angels are not dainty ladies or fat babies. Created before us and higher than us, they are immensely powerful creatures whose mission is to serve and protect us on our journey home. But they are powerless if we do not become like children and allow them "to light and guard, to rule and guide" us.
Let us always pray for their help.

Today's Gospel presents 2 types of children. The first are tax collectors, prostitutes and drug addicts - rebellious sinners who say NO to the Father's Commandments. But later in life they repent and try to make up. The second type are those who heartily say YES to Jesus' Commandment "love one another." But in their heart they condemn sinners to death.
The 1st Reading warns us that it's the first type that enters heaven. But throughout our lives we can be like children on a playground, swinging back and forth between Yes and No.
The 2nd Reading presents to us a third type of child who said Yes and never wavered. The Son Jesus, sent by our Father to die for all of us swingers.
Today is His Day. Let us say Yes to the 3rd Commandment "Keep holy the Lord's Day" and go to Holy Mass.

Our Savior!
But savior from what? In our spiritual infancy, we want Christ to save us from pain & worry. This view makes us spoiled brats, complaining at every discomfort like the Israelites did in their 40-yr journey in Moses' time.
Christ was sent by our Father to walk w/ us thru every season of our lives toward the promised homeland.
Journeying w/ Christ is never boring. There's a time for everything, a time to feast & a time to fast, a time to laugh & a time to cry, a time to die & a time to rise again.
Christ NEVER leaves us as we die to our old lives, whether it takes 40 yrs or 3 days, until we rise w/ Him, spiritual giants ready for the new life that God has made beautiful in His time.

"What sign can u do that we may see & believe in u?" The people asked Christ for a sign to prove to them that He was sent by God. They cited manna that fell from heaven daily at Moses' time.
He gave them no sign at that time but He declared, "I AM the Bread of Life."
At the Last Supper, Christ gave the world THE Sign, the Eucharist, the Bread of Life.
A sacrament is the visible sign of invisible grace. The Eucharist is Christ's continuing incarnation, His visible flesh in the world. It's the spiritual food that increases Christ's presence in us. Like St Stephen (1st Reading) fear of death wont stop us from following Christ.
As we pray for the reopening of churches, lets open our hearts & be Christ's sacraments to our neighbors.

Life is so meaningless!
We labor all our life, then end up with nothing but failed dreams, heartache from people we loved, ingratitude from those we helped, illness from our hard work. And when we're dead, we and everything we have done are forgotten. (1st Reading)
In the Gospel, evil King Herod was curious about Jesus. But that was all. He never moved from curiosity to conversion, choosing a hollow life till the meaningless end.
Are you tired with life? Is there any point in living?
Maybe you are trying to make a life based on what you think life should be and live it by your own rules. How about trying full commitment to Jesus and His Gospel.
With Jesus, life has purpose and meaning. Errors are forgiven, second chances never end, He makes all things new. And every sacrifice done for Him is applauded by all of heaven, recorded and treasured for all eternity!

Jesus sent them out to proclaim the Kingdom of God. "Take nothing for the journey - neither walking stick, nor sack, nor food, nor money."
Life is a journey, a sacred mission planned before we were born. God equips us with talents, strengthens us with virtues and hardens us with pain. He provides us with daily bread - not too much as to forget Him, nor too little as to hate Him. (1st Reading)
JOURNEY OF LIFE
-Life is but a stopping place, a pause in what is to be,
A resting place along the road to sweet eternity.
-We have different journeys, different paths along the way,
We all are meant to do some things but never meant to stay.
-Our destination is a place far greater than we know,
For some the journey is quick, for some it is slow.
-And when the journey finally ends, we will claim a great reward:
Everlasting peace together with our Lord.

Christ's followers follow His habit, after waking up, lets have quality talk w/ God. Praying is not doing all the talking.
Praying is listening to God where & what to do to obtain His blessings.
Listening to God is NOT imagining what He is saying.
It is to READ the Bible & spend time in reflection.
1. Be open
2. Read the day's passages. Reflect on the word/verse that struck u
3. Read again
4. Respond to what God told u
5. Be still a few minutes, allow God to have the last word. Say, "Speak Lord, your servant is listening."
With this, the Word-made-flesh will be our guide.
Work of ministry for building up the Body of Christ

Today is the Feast of St Matthew. One day, while he was busy w/ his job as tax collector, Christ passed by & said to him, "Follow me."
Matthew followed at once & left everything to work for the Kingdom as an Apostle & writer of the Gospel.
Christ comes to us too any time of the day. He comes calling our attention when we are busy. He can also come thru a messenger, when we are busy w/ work, & invite us to join some "work of ministry for building up the Body of Christ," the Church (1st Reading)
Christ's ultimate call for all of us is to join the intercessory ministry in heaven & pray w/ St Matthew & other Saints for our loved ones on earth.
May He give us the amazing grace so that we can hear & respond every time He calls.

The Kingdom of God is like a vineyard to w/c the landowner calls laborers to work for him. He searches for workers all day long. Then he gives them all the same wage.
God sent His Son to save us. Christ outlined how he was going to save us: "Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand."
So to be saved, we repent, join the Kingdom & work in the vineyard. It's not enough to be sinless. That's just the prerequisite. We must have an active service for the Lord, helping build His Kingdom. Only then will we receive the 'wage' He gives all workers - heaven.
Serving at church or community doesnt benefit God. It benefits us & keeps us focused on God & guides us away from sin. It keeps us healthy, holy & happy.

"*If what I eat causes my brother to fall into sin, Ill never eat meat again so that I wont cause him to sin.*" (1Cor8:13)
St Paul is no longer following the Jewish prohibition on eating some "*unclean meat*" since Christ abolished this (Mk7:19). But if eating meat can cause scandal in new converts to Christianity & can lead them to sin, he is willing to sacrifice his personal freedom & give up eating meat.
Unclean meat is no longer an issue today, but modesty in dressing is. In the church, uncovered meat will cause others to fall & sin. Many of them are there to ask Christ for help in fighting temptations.
Giving up our personal freedom in what to wear will certainly help Christ draw all men to Himself.

Hi @Macronald , I know it’s too late but I did not introduce myself here in read.cash, so here it is.
I’m @TiyoFidel I tend no to include my complete name just my pen name only hehe. At this moment I don’t have job so I have all my time everyday.
The first time I saw read.cash was on a video in youtube. Someone posted there about an introvert converted to an extrovert and I was intrigued so I tried to register.
From my first post down to the last you could see my improvement and happiness as well. I don’t know but when I’m here in read.cash there is something in me that wants to go out haha. Plus there is a points reward system that makes you more going and inspired to make more and more content.
I just want to say thank you for all the love and support for my article writing and it really does a big help for me as an aspirant writer and a blogger.
It started with 1 new friend until it goes to 5 new friends and then 10 and then 20+. at first I was so hesitant to write anything here because maybe someone will judge you base on your articles, but I tend not to think that way and just focus on what is really I am good at.
To those people who have the same mindset like me, just don't give up. You are here not to impress them, you are here because you are a writer. Create anything because there are a lot of people here that will support you.
