Dark complexion

I finally came to write my idea to the challenge of @JonicaBradley to her prompt "Darkness". It's been days since she came to formulate this prompt even with her weak physique but her strong passion calls her for duty. I appreciate your strength. **Why dark complexion?** Everyone has different skin tone and mine happened to be dark one. And I was always got bullied before of how toasted I am not knowing what the story behind it and why is that I have different colors than them. I don't always defend myself to bullies because I find it not necessary for them to know and I don't owe them an explanation. Since I open up this to you I would share to you why. There are 3 main reasons I would be pointing out to you to fully understand why. **I am a Filipino** First, my mother and father is not born white because we are Filipino though not pure but still my dominant color is brown and Filipino normal skin color is brown. Yes, Filipino are not black we're brown. I am bullied by Filipinos too. Toxic mindset of letting down similar breed lol. I am brown and I am proud of it. I may be owning a dark skin tone it's because this is what my nationality's color. I don't have a problem with it. At least I am natural. Brown is beautiful to me. It's me and I am please with it. I don't have the responsibility to please everybody. **I am a farmer** Yes, I am a farmer and being a farmer requires being under the sun. And being under the sun would means you will be burned. Yes I am burn and even toast. I was born from a poor family and our livelihood is under the sun. Planting corn, rice and vegetables. What do you expect? We are not born with golden spoon in our mouth. This simply means we need to work our ass off 24/7 for us to have food in our plate. **I am not rich** If I am born rich maybe I could do something about it right? Like buy products to whitens my complexion but then I am not. I accepted my faith and I am not insecure to anyone regarding my skin color. I am happy having such color. There are so many problems a poor should deal with other than skin tone. Understanding why a person is having such physical appearance is not quite hard but I couldn't fully gasp the people who always judge others because of it. There are always reason behind those that you need to look beyond the lines. Beyond those physical appearance that you have seen. My dark skin tone is not just a signifies of physical attributes but reflects also to my experiences. **My past** We are born poor and our livelihood is farming. In a very young age, I do farming job. I wake up early in the morning to go to the rice field up until sunset. With burning heat of the sun I plant rice, clean the rice field and when harvesting time, harvest it. If rice field were done harvesting we do gardening. We clean the field plant the seeds, uprooted the weeds, put fertilizer, harvest and sell them. When garden is harvest we plant corn. We clean the field again, sow the corn, clean, put fertilizer and harvest it. More than that we also went to the mountain to harvest our coconut there. We help father in gathering the coconut, cutting it in half, putting it on fire and put it out from its shell. Sometimes when the abaca fiber is in season we made clothes fiber too. That's my life until I reach college. Isn't enough reason that I would be of such complexion? I am born to be burned with the sun. That's me. **Closing thought** We shouldn't judge people of what we see in the outside appearance. We should think of what they might be dealing to be of such condition. There is always more than that. Other than what the eyes could see. I am who I am because of my experiences and I am proud of it. I may be experiencing hard time and got bullied because of it but I am proud and I accept my flaws if that's what people labeled it. For me it's my remnance of who I am. I am a Filipino, I am a farmer and I am not rich. And this will be my inspiration to reach my goals and dreams in life. Dark complexion is never a problem. The color of your personality do. Thank you so much for reading. I hope I do justice to jonica's prompt. Thank you so much to my ever supportive sponsors. And to all my friends here. I appreciate you so much. More power and I love you all πŸ₯°πŸ˜˜
