Heartbreaking wrath of Agaton

April 11, 2022- Monday

Today after the storm Agaton had passed my news feed is full of post and news of different places that was devastated by typhoon Agaton. It sadden me so much upon looking and reading of it all. Most especially that the places were near from my home town and just our neighborhood. I already knew that last night that I will see this news and post on Facebook. I was just a little late learning about it because I can't access Facebook earlier since the TNT and smart connection were down. Upon learning everything, it shocked me because it's too much from what I have expected. There were a lot of places covered because of landslide and many went missing because of it. The flood was a different issue as well.

That's only few of the different flood scenario that happened during the devastation of the typhoon Agaton yesterday. There were many who need help and rescue because of the flood. But many rescuers as well couldn't handled all of them especially those areas which water current is so strong. Baybay alone needs speed boat for rescuing many residents who had been struggling from the flood. Aside from the flood there is much more devastating scenario that happened during Agaton.

There is a whole barangay covered with the land in a particular place in Baybay, our neighboring town. There are 13 houses that was covered, and families that went missing. The rescue is still on going and there are already few bodies found already dead.

The photo isn't mine and was saved only from a Facebook post. I don't intend to hurt anyone but looking at this photo is very heart breaking. May their souls rest in eternal peace. They're just only few of the people who gone missing from the landslide that happened. The rescue operation is still on going.

Many roads are not passable. Bridges are not safe to pass. The clearing operations are still on going. I just hope and pray that the rain will stop so that there will be no more damage and distractions that will happened. I hope and pray as will for the rescuers and clearing personnels' safety. May the Lord protect and guide them.

Currently, as the operations are on going the hospitals is busy as well.

I thank God for the safety of this individuals. May the Lord give them strength and hope. In this time around they need our prayers and our help. May the Lord give the nurse and doctors as well the courage and health to attend all the patients needs. I couldn't bare to look how broken and tired they are in this time. From the home and properties that lost to the member of the families. Let's pray for them. They badly need it. Aside from the prayer they also need food, water and clothing. A little help would be a big thing for this people. If you are just willing. There are lots of people there who posted regarding help or donation matters. As much as I want to help them at least in this simple act I could. We are having hard time in this times as well but this people needed much help than I do. I hope and pray that you will have the heart to help.

Currently, the rain still falling though there is no hard wind anymore but it's still not safe because the water is continue raising. It's the second night that we won't have sleep again. Although I am worried of our situation, my worries is much more to the people who lost home and families. My prayer is with them.

This time isn't the first typhoon we encounter but it's my first time encountering such devastation near our land, of flood and landslide. It's the first time we face many deaths. It's our first time to have typhoon in a holy week season. In my 26 years of existence it's the very first time. I hope it will be the first and the last. This is more than a reminder to all of us. It's a calling to be back in our Father's arm and pray. In this holy week season let's respond the calling and turn our back to sinfulness. May the Lord cleans our soul and renew us.
