Happy Sunday everyone! How's your Sunday? My day today is fine, it's quite boring in the morning but fun in the afternoon since I spend having videoke in my friend's house. Anyways, how ever you spend it I bet you had all the fun and the Lord is guiding you all throughout.

Today let's hit another writing for us to feed our soul to strengthen us before fighting another battle of the next weekdays to come. Let's all read and ponder the message of the lord through today's Holy Gospel.

Holy Gospel

Mark 10:17-30

He was setting out on a journey when a man ran up, knelt before him and put this question to him, 'Good master, what must I do to inherit eternal life?' Jesus said to him, 'Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone. You know the commandments: You shall not kill; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not give false witness; You shall not defraud; Honour your father and mother.' And he said to him, 'Master, I have kept all these since my earliest days.' Jesus looked steadily at him and he was filled with love for him, and he said, 'You need to do one thing more. Go and sell what you own and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.' But his face fell at these words and he went away sad, for he was a man of great wealth. Jesus looked round and said to his disciples, 'How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!' The disciples were astounded by these words, but Jesus insisted, 'My children,' he said to them, 'how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!

It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for someone rich to enter the kingdom of God.' They were more astonished than ever, saying to one another, 'In that case, who can be saved?' Jesus gazed at them and said, 'By human resources it is impossible, but not for God: because for God everything is possible.'Peter took this up. 'Look,' he said to him, 'we have left everything and followed you.' Jesus said, 'In truth I tell you, there is no one who has left house, brothers, sisters, mother, father, children or land for my sake and for the sake of the gospel who will not receive a hundred times as much, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and land -- and persecutions too -- now in this present time and, in the world to come, eternal life.

Reflection

For today's gospel reminded us of the things needed to be done to inherit the eternal life and have treasure in heaven. The heavenly father told the man in the gospel that to inherit internal life we must follow the commandments of God. What are those commandments?

You shall not kill; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not give false witness; You shall not defraud; Honour your father and mother.

Then the man told Jesus that he knew and do all this since he was young. So the Lord told him, he has one more needed to be done. To sell his belongings and gave to the poor and follow Jesus. But then, the man walk away very sad. Why? Because he is rich and he don't want to sell his belongings. Then Jesus told his disciples that it is very hard for the rich to enter heaven.

Brothers and sisters in Christ the rich that Jesus refered to is anyone who are not willing to give up worldy things and follow him. It could be me or you. If we knew and do all the commandments of God, then praise God for that. But, if we don't want to leave our worldly belongings in this world and follow him then we still failed to acquire heaven above. My dear, it's not enough that you did not kill, you did not steal, you did not give false witness, did not defraud and did honor your father and mother, you should also willing to leave everything in this world in order for you to have place in heaven.

We had hard time doing daily life all the commandments how much more on giving up the things that we build with so much efforts? The house, the car, every single thing. But I tell you it's not the literal meaning that Jesus had tried to emply on those words. It simply means we should not focus on wordly things, worldly treasures but treasure in heaven. How can we build those, simply sharing what's yours, giving to those much needed, and caring towards the people that surrounds you. That what it means to sell your belongings and follow Jesus. To follow means to do what Jesus had done, being humble, selfless, caring, loving, and obedient. These and more qualities that we needed to be done to enter heaven.

How about you?

How much courage do you have to sell your belongings and follow Jesus? Are you even willing?

Brothers and sisters in Christ in this world full of wordly things. Let's be reminded that anything here won't last. All is just passing by even your life. Thus, do not focus or give so much value and effort on worldly things. Let us be more focus on to the heavenly aspects and how to have treasures in heaven instead of wordly. In order to have treasure in heaven we need to follow what had Jesus demonstrated to us. To be humble, to be selfless, to be loving, to be obedient. And from that also with the other commandments we could surely inherit heaven that God had prepared for us.

That would be all. Thank you so much for reading. I appreciate you all. Especially to my dearest sponsors. God bless. As always I love you 🥰😘

As I was reading, a reflection and a question just popped out of my mind; "are you sure the sin of adultery and fornication still valid?". The rate if these acts in this era is alarming. Mark 10:17-30 has it all. Thank you for sharing this.
