Food for the soul: fish, loaves & his compassion

Happy happy father's to all father's out there. Today is a celebration of father's day. A day to show our appreciation to our dear father. The person who sacrifice alot for the family. The one who would do anything for the family. But some time tend to be neglected and unappreciated. Today as I continue this article, allow me to share to you the gospel and my reflections about it.

The Holy Gospel according to
Luke 9:11b-17
But the crowds got to know and they went after him. He made them welcome and talked to them about the kingdom of God; and he cured those who were in need of healing.It was late afternoon when the Twelve came up to him and said, 'Send the people away, and they can go to the villages and farms round about to find lodging and food; for we are in a lonely place here.'He replied, 'Give them something to eat yourselves.' But they said, 'We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we are to go ourselves and buy food for all these people.' For there were about five thousand men. But he said to his disciples, 'Get them to sit down in parties of about fifty.' They did so and made them all sit down. Then he took the five loaves and the two fish, raised his eyes to heaven, and said the blessing over them; then he broke them and handed them to his disciples to distribute among the crowd. They all ate as much as they wanted, and when the scraps left over were collected they filled twelve baskets.
Reflection
Today I would be reflecting unto the miracle that the Lord performed in this gospel. The miracle of the two fish and five loaves. On this miracle the Lord fed thousands of hungry people with only two fish and five loaves. It even had left over of twelve baskets. If we look closely it is indeed a huge miracle performed. Indeed the Lord is very powerful.
In our life there are moments that we think it is very much impossible to surpass or to acquire things we have in life but if we believe, miracles happened. In those times that I thought we don't have anything to eat the Lord always provided us. Through the people as the instruments of his goodness. Way back when papa had his operation and we were left at home, don't have anything and still studying, I couldn't imagine we surpassed that famine and struggles in our life. Our family don't have any land or farm. We don't have anything to be called ours in this earth. Only the family. No belongings, none. But the Lord is too good and gracious that we survive. We never had moments that we had nothing to eat. Because the Lord provided our needs.
The thousands of people who ate the two fish and five loaves shares each other that is why they never runs out. When things is shared it always suits to everybody. It always possible to surpass challenges when shared. It is always possible to acquire things when helping each other. That's the power of unity and love. No man is an island. That is why you are made because of each other. Your purpose is to help other people. That is our purpose. Just like Jesus we should be merciful and compassionate to everyone around us. Feed the hunger. Dress the poor. Visit the sick and many more.
Conclusion
It is very challenging to believe especially when things don't turn out to be in favor of you. When things seems to oppose everything you desire and ever wanted. But hold still and believe because in god's grace nothing is impossible. Miracle happens when we believe that is why we should never stop believing.
It is very challenging to be compassionate like Jesus but be compassionate anyways. You know how it feels when you needed help and no one will be there to help you. Pray the Lord to be like Jesus. You are being showered with so much compassion thus give compassion as well. It's never wrong to help even though you don't have anything left. God will give it back ten times fold.
