Black Saturday: A day of service

As a continue celebration of the Holy week, we celebrate black Saturday. Black Saturday is a celebration where the station of the cross is celebrated. And I wasn't able to attend because it was celebrated early in the morning. More activities coming on the way and I thank God that I was able to do service within this black Saturday.

As I was saying, I was able to do service within this day and I am grateful and happy to be of service.

First off, we went to get something for our decoration for the Easter Sunday. We meet in the church at 9:00 am.

We get some ferns and Vietnam grass off the woods. We enjoy it much although there are a lot of mosquitoes biting hehe. We enjoy the esthetic mother nature. Such a refreshing view. We really appreciate it and talk about planting more trees to avoid more disaster in the coming years.

After, getting the ferns and vines. We get back to the church. Na decorate the venue for the Easter Sunday.

We don't have enough resources for the decoration because aside from the fact that roads still unpassable the past few days, flowers cost a lot lately. So, we improvise, and we reuse the flowers again tha was use the previous day. Still we were able to beautify the place even with such crisis we encounter.

We able to finish the decorations and had our lunch in the barangay hall together with our brothers and sisters. After that we went home and prepare ourselves for the 8:00 pm mass. We arrived early in the church. Another activity I get to attend is the Blessing of the new fire. Because of the crowd I did not able to capture any photos. So I capture this instead.

The mass begin with the lighting of the candle and renewing our faith through the baptism of water.

The church was field with the light of the candle as we celebrate the Holy Saturday. This symbolize the light that we found in Jesus, as He rose from the dead. We were showered with the holy water right after the priest blessed the water in the altar. Praise the Lord God almighty for the calling to be here and the opportunity to celebrate the Black Saturday with him through the Holy gospel and the Holy Eucharist.

As we wait for the Easter Sunday celebration, we are here right now in the church watching the program that is facilitated by the Youth.
