But before continuing allow me to great a warm Merry Christmas to all of my sponsors and friends here.

Merry, merry Christmas and wishing you a prosperous new year. 🎄

After forcing myself to sleep that night after Odette ravaging the land, I wake up early. Together with my board mates, we went to our boarding house near the sea to check if we still have something left that we could go back with our empty stomachs. We did not eat because we are very anxious to know what happened to our boarding house and everything else after the wrath of Odette.

The scenario when we go out from the dormitory where we evacuated was overwhelming. The tress were all naked as it has no leaves anymore. Most of them were broken and laying everywhere. As I look beyond the mountains everything is brown and trees were gone.

The rambutan near the dormitory fell and we took the chance to get it's fruit for us to have something to eat. We put few more in the bag for us to have few left when we go back because we knew that people will come and get some fruits as well and maybe we don't have anything left when we returned.

As we continue our journey and make ourselves out in the street. We could see the post laying in the road. The wires were tangling with each other and the broken trees were everywhere and the road was full and not accessible.

The church of UCCP was destroyed and the school at the back of it where my board mates were volunteering was also destroyed. The roof and the wall was gone and destroyed by the fallen trees. Windows were broken and things were wet and destroyed as well. Modules, printers and everything was destroyed. Nothing left to rescued nor revived.

Continuing the journey to our boarding house, our heart was heavy. Thinking that if everything that we passed through was destroyed maybe our boarding house was destroyed as well. We still continue and we were so overwhelmed by what we saw.

The road

The sea
Our boarding house
There were supposedly a lot of houses there but the waves wiped it all

The road was broken into pieces and the sea was so wide. We could see the boarding house from a far. It was still standing but everything as well were broken. Windows, wall and roof. Though it wasn't fully destroyed -thanks God. Unlike everything else that was totally gone. The house near our boarding house was wiped out by the waves. There's no house visible anymore. It was heart breaking seeing the people who don't have anything left to returned. If we were pitiful because our boarding house was destroyed yet I feel more pity towards the people who lost there homes totally.

We couldn't weep all day for whatever happens happened already. We need to accept the reality of it all that Odette really destroyed everything and nothing we could do to turn it back. Therefore the only thing we could do is to continue moving and surviving.

As we pick our things up, we pick ourselves up as well from the brokeness and destruction of typhoon Odette. We pick our things, and everything that was left to us. My board mates cleaned there things that was full of sand and soil. Mine was still clean because I put it in a cellphane and put it in the cabinet. There's only few things that is wet and we let it dry in the sun and we camp outside our boarding house.

Still manage to smile despite ofwhat happened

Seeing people come and go with the visibility of sadness and pain in there eyes was much painful than thinking ourselves as to how we survive the next day. We couldn't think of that as of the moment because of the sorrow that we feel towards the people who lost there homes. It was so devastating. Some of them was crying not because of lost homes but because of uncertainties of what happened to there love ones as well in the other places. Some of them still able to smile while picking up the things they own floating in the shore. Some of them was old, most of them were kids.

It was very painful knowing that I want to help them but I couldn't because I don't have anything as well. We are so fragile as of the moment and we don't have anything to offer but a fighting spirit and encouragement to each and everyone. I am happy at least they are still so positive and have a grateful heart that eventhough they lost there homes they are grateful for their safety. For things could be replaced but lives couldn't. That reason alone give them the spirit to continue life with positivity. I am proud by the resiliency they are wearing in this time of struggle. I am proud of how they look things with positivity. They are beautiful soul who give fighting spirit to everyone as well despite the challenges they are facing. Their positivity inflected me as well.

I am praying their recovery and I believe God will not forsake them. Sooner or later with the help of one another they will soon recover.

Because of power and data outage we couldn't communicate our love ones. We are so worried what happened to them as well and we also knew they were worried about us. But what we can do is have faith. Pray to the Lord that he keep them safe. We want to go home but we can't because the road isn't passable yet because of damages and fallen trees. And we don't know if we could survive the next few days because there's no food and water supply available. There's no help coming because everybody was affected. And we fully understand.

That moment we lift everything up to the Lord. That He may guide us and provide everything for us. The first day after Odette's devastation has end and we face few more days before we finally gone home.

Let's end it here for now friends. I will continue to share with you our struggles and our blessings after the typhoon Odette. Thank you so much for reading. I appreciate you all. Merry Christmas again. God bless.

Such devastating effect of Odette that ruins everything, I feel pity for the people who've got affected by typhoon, all their efforts and time to build their properties are gone within a day due to monstrous act of nature. Even in our province, those houses neat the shore can't recognize nor wiped out by the massive tidal waves, it leaves people there hopeless, and asking for help. It's really disastrous that the typhoon is so quiet but suddenly got a surprise disastrous plan.
