What's Your Excuse?

As I have grown older I've noticed my friends and family say things like, "I'm too old to do that", "It's too late for me", "It was never meant to be", etc.

They are all excuses guys and it lowers our hopes and crushes our dreams when we believe them. Excuses allow us to procrastinate because we believe we can. We validate our excuses and then whine when nothing changes for the better in our lives.

Excuses are excuses and nothing more. They keep us from living out our dreams, from being the best we can be! We can set goals to make those changes and we may even start working on them, but eventually, we will give up and move on.

That change doesn't last because we:

Don't Believe in Ourselves - You have got to believe in yourself if you want to achieve your dreams. You have got to change your mindset or you will never believe in yourself. Instead of believing that it will not work, believe that it will work!

Refuse to Step Out of Our Comfort Zone- When a situation seems difficult we tend to stay in our comfort zone. We don't like to feel uncomfortable, so we do what makes us feel comfortable instead. Our minds have been conditioned this way, so you must take control and get uncomfortable. Until you choose to change your mindset, you will never be in control and you will continue to find yourself staying within your comfort zone.

Believe What Others Tell Us - We often listen to what others have to tell us, good or bad. Toxic people don't want you to win. They don't want you to succeed. They want you to be as miserable as they are. Why are you listening to them? What's your real reason? Remember, you are in control, not them.

Forget to Educate Ourselves - We get excited about a new idea, a new venture, and jump right in without ever learning about it. Then when we don't succeed, we blame it on the venture. You have to know how your new venture works. You must be willing to learn about it. You have got to do your research. Don't just take a person's word for it. Do your own research. Educate yourself.

We aren't Being Consistent- If we are barely into working on our goals we aren't being consistent. Instead of just working on your goals here and there, be consistent. You have to be willing to push through your goals and stay focused. Be committed!

Your life will change for the better if you take control. Stop making excuses and start believing you can do it.
